"Third building from the north end. Two-story structure with a collapsed roof on the west side. That is where her phone signal was strongest before it died."
"Thank you." I hung up, staring at the building he described. It looked like something from a nightmare. Broken windows, graffiti-covered walls, the kind of place where screams would go unheard.
"We call Morrison first," Lily said. "Give her the address. Then we go in."
"If we wait for the FBI, it might be too late."
"If we go in without backup, we might both die."
She was right. But every second felt like Declan slipping further away.
I called Morrison, gave her the address, and promised to wait for backup.
