Respect and recognition weren’t freely given; they were prizes earned by enduring relentless challenges and bending to archaic traditions. I didn’t belong. No matter how hard I tried to blend in, no matter how far I went to meet their expectations, I was always the outlier. Green Peaks prized raw ability above all else, and I lacked the gifts they revered: the ability to shift, to emit emotional scents, or to mind-link. In their eyes, I wasn’t a wolf. I was something else.

The Alpha of the last pack I was in knew about it, and said it might have been because I was a Hybrid that I was able to shift before my 18th birthday. Bella then asked what a Hybrid was and I told her, “A hybrid is a shifter of 2 or more different species of shifter, there are many kinds of shifters in this world. Shifters can be Wolf, Dragon, Pixie, Fae, Fairy, Bear, Lion, Tiger, Jaguar, Swan, Eagle, Hawk, Leopard, Gryffin, Unicorn, Centar, Goose, Lycan, Fox, Coyote, etcetera. For example my mom is a Witch but she is also a Wolf shifter, and my dad is a Dragon shifter. So for myself, I have both the genes of Dragon and Wolf shifter in my DNA and I might get the dragon side, but I might not

I ask with a glare. “She’s the most special kind of hybrid there is and the only one in existence. She is a white wolf with golden eyes as I presume you are as well given your eye color. You are the only two in existence and it’s quite amazing how you ended up being mates. Luna is also a witch and the demon queen.” Amelia says and I notice Luna flinch at her words out of the corner of my eye.

Tobias rubbed his bruising jaw as he gathered his feet under him to lift himself off the ground, his wolves; six thickly muscled bodies, began to emerge into the circle of light. "She's my mate!"Ciaran growled, thunderously. "Hybrids can't have mates. They're half undead." the short brunette snarled, half shifted. Runa squelched her fear and jumped out of the back seat to defend her mate. Anger fueling her, her shift was quicker than usual. Looks of shock covered each male face, wolves included, at the sight of her huge red wolf. She released a deep guttural growl as she stood infront of Ciaran and Jake. She lowered her head, widened her stance and bared her elongated canines. Her eyes were

Last but not least, I would be taking on my role as both Luna and Hybrid Queen. During all of the discussions, I also learned from Dirk, who had been informed by Zach, that Stryker was a hybrid. He explained how it would be different for Stryker, due to having been a wolf to begin with. When I asked about the bloodlust thing, I learned that Stryker wouldn’t have it.

“Because our mate is outstanding.’ Cardinal commented in awe as we watched our mate take down another Mandonie wolf. I’ve never seen a wolf with such a gift. A wolf that moves with more agility and speed than even Luna Aurelia it’s breathtaking to witness. Soon the last of the Mandonie was taken down, and our mate came to a stop. Ebony fur with streaks of blue on her flanks. I’m not sure what that means, but it’s certainly unique. ‘Our mate is a hybrid. Like the girl we were sent to protect.’ Cardinal informed me.

“So... that’s why... you took me from the very start?” "Yes. You are... special. And I have come to a conclusion that only your wolf can free the curse. Because..." She hesitated, something off in her expression. "Because of what?" I demanded, my voice trembling with barely contained frustration. "Um... yeah. Because there’s witch blood within you." "I... what?" "You're a hybrid. A rare creature. And I need your wolf to be sacrificed in order to keep Ragnor alive!" Luna Dowager’s eyes turned red in an instant, as I limped toward her.

-You're a hybrid- I stay still in my place, when I'm about to turn I receive a strong blow on my head leaving me in absolute darkness.

I knew it was a rhetorical question but I still couldn't help but ask,I have been asking her every night since the death of my second mate . "Rica what the hell are you doing out there at this hour of the night?" I know that voice more than anyone, it's none other than Mica my best friend and the only one who knows my secret except my parents, she is like a sister to me. She also is an Omega and she can also shift but her wolf is brown just like her hair and eyes. She also lost her Mate four years ago,he was a rogue who he killed my Mate her brother and rejected her so I killed him.

I screwed my eyes up and saw a faint sight of her, beaming with joy and it disappeared as if it was never there. The pain was too much, my chest felt heavy and my head hurt so much that I felt like dying. “NOW TAKE CHARGE!” “Argh!” It was as if I was on fire, my body was burning and the fire spreading over my body. It’s over. “The hybrid wolf is here...” She said quietly and the next thing I saw was darkness.
