When did I get so desperate? She turned away from me and I broke down. I began to lower my knees to the ground like a pussy. Just before they would touch the ground, she yelled at me. “Don't kneel in front of me, stop being pathetic. Get the fuck up.” I rose back to my feet and continued to beg as she spoke. “I shouldn't even be mad about it. It's not like we are in some sort of relationship.”

The next moment, I smash the glass onto the floor, causing her to jump up from her seat and scream. “You crazy little bitch!” she yells at the top of her lung. “What are you doing!”

He flinched. But I wasn’t finished. “I stayed when you had nothing. I built you with my own hands. And you threw me away like I was part of your past instead of your future.” My voice trembled, not with weakness, but with fury. “So don’t ask me where I’ll go. Ask yourself who you’ll be without me.” He didn’t answer. Not even a plea. Coward. I opened the door, stepping into the night. The air was cool, brisk—almost like it was welcoming me into a new life.

“Leave now.” She blinked, startled at the tone. “What?” “I said leave.” My voice dropped, rougher now. “We’re done.” For a moment, she stood still, the only sound the rain hammering the windows. Then she let out a brittle laugh, masking the crack I could see in her composure. “You think you can just throw me away?” I stopped a few feet from her. “Yes.” She straightened, the softness bleeding out of her face. “Because of her.”

She stumbled and fell hard onto the floor with a soft thud. For a split second, instinct kicked in and I felt the urge to reach down and help her up. But I stopped myself. No. This was it. This was the end. “Don’t you dare come near me again,” I warned, pointing a firm finger at her as she lay there. Tears welled up in her eyes and began streaming down her face. Her sobs echoed behind me as I turned and walked away without looking back. "Richard, come back to me, please!" she begged, her voice breaking with desperation. "You won’t understand… please come back!"

Something drops lifelessly beside me and I scream once again, my throat now so raw that my scream fades into a broken cry. "No! No! No!!!!" I cry, my hand outstretched in her direction when she quickly turns away. "Please-" I beg, "Please..." I don't really know what I'm begging for. For her to save me? For her to save my child? For her to kill me and put me out of this misery? I don't know, but it doesn't matter anyway because she does the one thing she has always been good at and never fails to do. She abandons me. Once again. As vulnerable and close to death as the very first time.

She didn’t beg or plead with me, her expression calm and resigned. Instead, she gave a slight nod, acknowledging the reality of the situation, and turned to walk out of the room. I can’t believe she just walked out like that. It’s shocking; she didn’t even beg me like she usually does or even try to explain herself. Instead, she left as if this job wasn’t worth her time, almost like she forgot how hard she fought to get it in the first place.

"I am not your mother, you ungrateful bitch, now get out of my face, I don't want to ever set my eyes on you, you ingrate," I held unto her trousers as she made to leave and begged shamelessly. "Mom, please, don't do this to me, I have no one else to go to, I am sorry please don't throw me out, I won't make it, I will do, please, please," I pleaded but she shook her trousers off, just as the security came in. "Throw her out and don't ever let her in here, she is not welcome neither is she a member of this family, do I make myself clear?"
