Esmerelda Sleuth: The Journal (Book 4)

Esmerelda Sleuth: The Journal (Book 4)

I did my best to take care not to scratch the leather, but when it fell into my arms, I noticed what looked like a fresh dig. Books were not as common in that era as they were in the future so I felt bad about causing damage to it. My lamenting lasted only briefly. An intense curiosity took over just as soon as I realized that it was a journal. It was not just any journal, either. This journal belonged to the late Elsbeth Sleuth. Could the deep, dark family secret be discovered within its pages? I simply had to find out. Lowering myself into a comfy nearby chair, I opened to the first page and focused on the elaborate handwriting. It took some time to familiarize myself with her dramat

Entwined With The Alpha

I took my time reading, and another hour went by. On finishing the third book, I realised I hadn’t read them in the right order. It seemed Finding the One was the first book, followed by The Claiming Rites, and then Under the Red Moon. This was a trilogy that needed to be read in the right order. I stared closely at the books and found the numbers on them written on each book from one to three, just like I arranged them. These numbers were written on the drawn-out full moon on the bottle right of the book’s front page, and, being set beside each other in the formal order, the full moon glowed.

I'm finally giving a book 5 stars. the reason is that the story is absolutely amazing! it's so captivating, and I literally fall asleep reading it because I don't want to put it down. there are several grammatical errors, but it does not take away from the book. Harvard to stanford? not good though

So far this is one of the best books I’ve read on this app, the writer is so wonderfully involved welcoming ideas and comments. Which in my opinion shows how much she appreciates her readers. The amount of descriptiveness, information and detail really helps you visualize what your reading. Thanx!!

The Mysterious Affair

The Mysterious Affair

She hadn't thought she would sleep so deeply or so long. She quickly stood up " Where the hell am I? What happened last night " she covered her face with tears, that was when she noticed she wasn't wearing the clothes she remembered wearing to work Yesterday. She was confused as she couldn't remember what happened after the drink Mr Jude gave her in her office. Henry ran up to check on her as he heard her almost screaming. "Good morning Miss" " Who the hell are you and why am I here?" She took a few steps away from him then she continued "Whose cloth am I wearing?"

Esmerelda Sleuth: The Other Side of the Mirror (Book 1)

“Esmerelda, what a beautiful name for a beautiful woman.” I don’t know who was more shocked by the words that poured forth from that handsome mouth with eye catching straight and -dentist whitened- teeth. From the look of shock on Melanie and Nora’s face, it was clear that they hadn’t expected such a comment any more than I had. “Esmerelda Sleuth is her full name,” Melanie giggled, with emphasis on my last name of Sleuth. “Here’s the best of it. She’s an investigator! Get it? Esmerelda Sleuth is a sleuth!”

My World Of Mystery

My World Of Mystery

I can feel a shiver run down my spine as I gulp. Something is weird about the atmosphere... how come everyone suddenly disappears? I slowly swallow the candy that was sitting in my mouth. It was a soft candy, so it didn't hurt my throat. Clenching the handle of my bag tightly, I try to walk as normally as I could master. *Bathump! Bathump!* Calm down... there must be a reasonable explanation why this happened, right? A shadow shape of a person appeared behind me. The more I try to walk faster, the more it follows me. Turning around to the different alleyway, I tried to lose the shadow. Since I wasn't paying attention to where I'm heading, I ended up walking to a dead end.

Second Chance Soulmate

Get a grip! Faith took several deep breaths to try to slow down her racing heart, then began to look at the books surrounding her. And her jaw dropped again when she realized that not only was he carrying all fifty-three of J.D. Robb’s In Death series written to date, but also that he had arranged them in chronological order rather than just lining them up alphabetically. She was a huge fan and collector, with books one through thirty-two in her possession already, so his presentation impressed her.

Episode 13 Chloe pov continues… I was sweating while arranging the dusted books in the container given to us when I come across a book, I dusted the title off, it seems like a diary or some journal, and that reminds me it's been long I have opened up my journal, I opened it and the first page I read is "Rachel Gerard, do not open unless you are Rachel Gerard" I smiled and put it back not after doing a speed glance at the write up in it, I'm so inquisitive? Yeah!.

Wrecking My Husband

I beamed. "Crazy, isn't it?" "Fucking crazy, for real." "First, we put THE DA VINCI CODE by DAN BROWN here." He picked out the book and inserted it in the center line of the shelf. He put HOW TO STOP TIME by MATT HAIG, followed by EVERGREEN by NAOMI HIRAHARA. "Then KISS THE GIRLS by JAMES PATTERSON." He put it next to the first book. "I've read that." I went on in a spur of excitement. "It's a thriller and mystery novel about a detective who's trying to track down a serial killer. So many twists and cliffhangers. Total page-turner." I giggled.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Sherlock Holmes canon is a treasure trove of mysteries, and diving into it can feel overwhelming at first. Personally, I’d recommend starting with 'A Study in Scarlet'—it’s where Holmes and Watson meet, and the origin story sets the stage perfectly. From there, 'The Sign of the Four' builds their dynamic further. Then, jump into the short story collections like 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' and 'The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes'—they’re bite-sized and showcase Conan Doyle’s genius at pacing. Save 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' for later; it’s a masterpiece that benefits from already knowing the characters well.

After the early stories, circle back to 'The Return of Sherlock Holmes'—it’s a triumphant comeback after Holmes’ ‘death.’ The later novels, like 'The Valley of Fear,' are great, but they feel more experimental. If you’re a completionist, finish with 'His Last Bow' and 'The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes,' though they’re uneven. The key is to savor the journey—Holmes’ world is best enjoyed when you let the mysteries unfold naturally.
