"That one is sentient, we shouldn't kill him," Mars said. At this point, Keith was not questioning anything, he would do so later. Right now, he had to fight yet another monster. He grabbed the shifter by the face, slamming it into the ground with earth-shaking force.

I said. “The existence of werewolves is an open secret, but a wolf running through the streets of New York in broad daylight is going cause more chaos than we want,” Kade said as he took off his shirt. “You’re going to Shift?” I asked incredulously. I instinctively diverted my gaze as his toned, muscled torso came into view. “You won’t let me use my contacts,” he replied as I heard the sound of his belt being unbuckled and his pants unzipping. “So I’m going to track them myself.”

Melody barked, “He did this.” A devilish grin stretched across my face as I released him. Thomas dropped to the ground with a thud, splashing in the puddle of mud. The delightful sound of bones cracking in the eerie night was music to my ears, watching him wither in agony as he transformed into his wolf. There was always a cost to pay when shifting, such excruciating pain was inescapable. His clothes shredded, fur sprouting from his skin, bones reconstructing themselves until he morphed into his wolf. Snatching the back of his neck in a punishing hold, “Stop.” I commanded in my Alpha tone.

She’d grown up with the tradition and hadn’t thought about it before this. Here she stood, rearranging what they had and what was coming. Planning where everything would go, and her mind suddenly goes off the rails with guilt and fear. Her pack was still her pack. She’d have new lives to care in the coming weeks. Nothing was ready. James and his mother were arguing over the new business. A shifter only resort. There were shifters waiting for it to open to visit. As they forced more shifters to live and work within cities, they needed a space to release their wilder side that was safe and protected.

I was in no mood dissecting his vague statement, so I changed the topic, “How was your first shift?” “Why,” He asks jokingly, “Planning on shifting now?” I frown, “Maybe. I just want to be prepared over what I should expect.” “It hurt like hell,” He starts. “Bones moved to places they have no business in being. My spine cracked, some bones elongated, some broke. Canines extended on my teeth. A whole lot of anatomical changes that shouldn’t even be possible. Either way it happened. It hurt at first, but you get used to it. It’s different when you shift, you’re more in touch with your wolf then. The heightened senses you have now will double, no, triple, when you shift.”

I raised my brows, even more confused. “So your card has a sum of money in it that is deposited monthly by your family. For those of us that live in the human realm, the shifter realm has a conversion method, so you don’t have to worry. They’ll convert your money to Wolf bucks. Though the exchange rate is a bitch. Shifter currency is pretty high against the dollar but… the value of one Wolf buck is really high. So you don’t have to worry too much,” he smiled like he hadn’t just spat out a series of crazy words in a sequence I had never heard in my life. Realm?

It's with a heavy mind that Chasing Shifters will be going to a 2x a wk updating. Life has gotten much busier for me and as of now, and I can only do updates 2 days a wk. so look out for new episodes on Weds and Sats. This change will go into effect this wk. In the end, they moved into Bianca's parents' rented two-bedroom. Seven people squeezed inside with barely room for luggage. Bianca and Lila started fighting almost immediately. Lila called Bianca useless; Bianca called Lila a freeloader. When Helen's migraines flared, Bianca's mother told her to wait at a public clinic.
