They watched the couple from afar for their reactions. “Waaaaaaa!” Hoonie screamed. He was so shocked and then he stood up from the bench. He was really scared. He thought there were some bad spirits or ghosts around. Sheena looked at him and worried. She stood up and checked if he was okay. “Are you okay, Hoonie?” Sheena asked and worried about him. Hoonie was so pale. But he acted cool and pretended that he was not scared at all. He cleared his throat and looked away from Sheena. “Um, yeah, Sheena. I am okay.” Hoonie lied. ‘What was that? Why did these balloons suddenly pop out? I think this amusement park is haunted.’ Hoonie thought and assumed.

She was like a relic stuck in the past and I treasured the short time I had with her. At the time of her only visit, I was a little monster of a kid of five years. To put me in my place or pacify me, she told me stories about scary creatures and beasts that inhabited their village and one such creature was a manananggal. That was the one that stuck with me and the one that I could never forget. She explained to me what it was:

The tall trees that barely sway in the spring wind, the quiet chirps and whistles of birds and squirads, the sweet, fresh smell of nature. Cyran and I used to come here when we were little. Just the edge of the woods, though. The older kids poisoned our minds with tales of spindars and giant lizards, the mad croc-genns and shadow walkers. Granted, they were not wrong. But those creatures live on the other side of Quindar, in the forsaken Leftydes. I just wish I had known that years earlier, before the times Cyran and I would bolt from the place at the slightest uncanny sound.

But the lady ghost are a very bad class of wives. When they see an old boy, they are happy to run randomly. If they eats old boy's brain , the life span of the conifers increases. When Khokon's uncle remembered that, he started chanting Ram's name. I don't care which side of the river it is. The river is the favourite place of fish-eating wives. His screams increased as he remembered that.

So I sat at my desk and got back to work on the computer. It didn’t take too long after that when I finally found something on the dark web. “Dad.” I said. “What?” He asked, looking up. “Vampires are talking. I don’t think they’re involved in what is happening. But they know about what’s going on.” I explained. “What do they say?” He asked, walking over to my desk. “That it’s not an isolated incident. One says that the country will be more aware by the time they hit the second town.” I said.

Nora concluded in a silk undertone. Impressed by her good storytelling skills, the kids applauded her as they glued their vote stickers on the voting pad. However, amongst the other kids, some people weren't impressed—Gina Adams and minions. "Oh, PUURLEES. . . This is the lamest scary story in the history of lame scary stories," Gina jeered loudly, her tone wielding the usual amount of obnoxity.

Alvin, ever the joker, was making failed attempts at shadow puppets, but it was Nathan who commanded our attention. “Okay, are you guys ready for a real ghost story?” he said, grinning at the prospect of scaring the wits out of us. “Once upon a time…” With that wicked smile of his, Nathan launched into a tale so creepy that it had us both quaking. It was a story about evil spirits that haunted the very woods we were camping in. He described the ghosts in vivid detail—their hollow eyes, their twisted forms—and even mimicked the haunting sounds they supposedly made. By the end of it, Alvin and I were gripping our sleeping bags, our eyes darting nervously to the tree line beyond the campfire.

It’s a good thing that we came prepared. “This place is creepy.” Kai drug out the word creepy. I have to agree with him. Neither of us got any rest last night. We kept hearing strange sounds. Moaning and screams from things we have never experienced before. We saw a faceless spirit looking thing last night. I believe they are called a Hupia, although I can’t be certain that’s what it really was. It didn’t bother us, but this place seems to be filled with them. Something else that we have come across is a Morko. It is an elemental Ooze type creature. They are freaky as hell but the only way they could hurt you is to love you to death. We have also crossed paths with a few dangerous creatures,

Tonight was our first official sleepover in the treehouse, and we'd dragged up sleeping bags, flashlights, and enough snacks to last a week. "Tell me a scary story," Avy said, settling into her sleeping bag. "I don't know any scary stories." "Make one up." "Okay, um..." I pointed my flashlight at my face for dramatic effect. "Once upon a time, there was a girl who read so many books that her eyes fell out." "That's not scary, that's stupid." "Fine. There was a boy who was so bad at football that the football grew teeth and ate him." Avy giggled. "You're terrible at this."

“Fine, we’ll let Hellfire tell us a ghost story.” “I don’t know any ghost stories,” I say. “What about you, Siren?” Venom asks her. “Nope.” “Well, then, it’s time the two of you become good at making up stories,” Intrigue says. For the next couple of hours, while Hacker and Sphinx work in the van, the rest of us make up ghost stories. I have to admit, Raptor is really good at making up scary stories and Intrigue is as well. Megan’s aren’t terrible, but Venom’s are, as they said, pretty stupid. I’m not sure mine are any better, but I made up one about the ghost that lives in the river, and it made everyone glance at the river we’re sleeping beside more than once.
