Harithen staggered out, pulling off his helm, and emptied his stomach into the trampled grass as the vampires moved to the next tent, sliding through the human soldiers that lingered around the fires as if they were meant to be there, keeping their faces down.
“It is not easy, Harithen,” Thaelen said gently, placing his hand on the prince’s shoulder, using his body to shield Harithen from sight. Without his helm on, Harithen’s hair and face was too recognizable. He pulled Harithen’s cloak hood up. “This taking of life. But it is necessary.”
“I guess, it seems… too easy,” Harithen wiped the back of his hand across his mouth. “Not honorable to sneak through the shadows…”
