I ignored the pain as I turned to see the man sitting up against the wall, rubbing the back of his head, unbothered by the small stream of blood coming from his hair down his forehead.
“I actually saw that coming,” he responded, struggling to get on his feet, eyes not leaving me. “You say you’re not a shifter. I guess, now we will see.” What did that mean?
