Why would my locket open her secret room? I turned the pages slowly, my eyes growing wider with each sentence.

Then I noticed the cover of the book, it has a hole round shape in it and an anchor then ship wheel in it. I look at the three objects in my hand and the book. I put two and two together and realized something. I connected the dots and placed the three objects into the holes in the cover of the book. I was almost blinded when it shined so bright. I let out a surprise gasp when the book floated and automatically flipped the pages. It stopped at one page. The book slowly landed back down on the bed. I let out a deep breath and decided to read what the book was showing me.

“See? I told you. I can’t. This isn’t for me.” “Try again,” Di urged, voice trembling but steady with faith. “Just once more.” I swallowed hard. Fine. One more time. I pressed my palms against the cover and let my mind sink into the silence, into my own pulse. I pictured hinges groaning, pages fluttering. The book shuddered. Heat flared beneath my hands. My eyes flew open. It opened. Pages ripped themselves free, fluttering until one stopped in the center. The world held its breath.
