The Moonlight of Betrayal
Kane’s forehead glistened with sweat, his body shaking like a leaf in a storm.
Somewhere deep in his bones, he knew: his sister was slipping through his fingers.
"Emma," he whispered, his knuckles white, "Moon Goddess, bring her home."
At first light, Dad slammed Fiona’s door open, the wood cracking against the wall.
"When did you last hear from Emma?"
His voice was trembling.
Fiona’s smile splintered. She froze and was totally shocked by dad’s reaction.
"N-not since… you know how she is. Probably off partying with some pack mutts—"
