Chapter 1: The Weight of Silence The cold wind whispered through the twisted pines of the Silken North, carrying the scent of salt and ancient secrets. Lady Seraphine D’Argent stood at the edge of the cliff, her slender frame silhouetted against the bruised sky. The blood moon was hours from rising, but already its faint red glow seemed to tint the horizon, bleeding into the clouds like a warning.

Damien told me that we had to wait until Samhain6, or Halloween, to teleport us to Hell, because that’s supposedly when the veil between the living world and the dead is its thinnest, and it would be the easiest day for me to attempt teleporting between realms since it’s my first time.

Maybe he didn’t know they were there.” “So, have you figured out the other two locations?” Cutter asked, bringing them all back around to the next step. “I sure have,” Lyric replied. “This is where the foreign words Rider is allergic to come in.” “You mean they’re not also in Reaper’s Hollow?” he asked. “Damn. Nothing can be easy.” “’Fraid not,” Lyric said, shaking her head. “The first one is in an abandoned town in Turkey called Kayakoy—a ghost town.”

'The baby conversation' "Holy Shittttt!" Brian cursed, running a hand over his face. "Laurel knew and She didn't see the need to say anything to me? What the hell is wrong with her?" He said to himself and then stormed out of the study room to go confront his younger sister. Just when Brian was about to make his way towards the staircase that led to the second floor where Laurel's room was, he heard a peal of very familiar laughter which made him stop in his tracks. He turned around and traced the sound to one the living rooms which was just a couple of steps away from his father's study room.

But the Hollow was far from finished. The cavern walls began to crumble, ancient stones groaning as cracks spiderwebbed across their surface. A thick, black mist bled from the fissures, pooling around their feet like a living thing alive and hungry. Shadows surged forward, claws outstretched, hungry for the power pulsing between John and Sarah. John grabbed Sarah’s hand and pulled her close as they sprinted toward the shattered entrance. The ancient runes carved into the stone flared violently, an angry barrier determined to imprison them forever. Each step forward felt heavier, as if the Hollow was trying to drag them back into the abyss.

In a black site, an agent looking up from his computer. "Found who he is," he announced and Agent Rudder and his colleague Agent Miller walked over to his station. "Name, Jason Steele. A lawyer at HM corporation. A few distant relatives, but no record in the system," the agent told them. "Why is a guy like that having contact with Madam Lee?" Agent Rudder said. "Get this, HM corporation is a branch of a subsidiary to Night Group. They were in a scandal recently for some leaked cooperate secrets," the anger said, tapping away at his computer.

##Chapter 044 ##The Weight of Blood The Hollow Den was silent after the howls faded into the distance. Too silent. The kind of silence that pressed against my skull until my own heartbeat sounded like a war drum. I hadn’t slept. Not truly. Every time I closed my eyes, the darkness coiled around me like a living thing, dredging up half-formed dreams that left my skin damp and my nerves stretched taut.

"Rhett… you're lying. Sylvia loved gowns inlaid with moonstone crystals. How could she possibly have cherished this plain, old white dress?" Caught in his lie, Rhett froze for a moment, then ran off in a flustered, furious rage. Unlike before, I didn't chase after him to comfort him. I let him vent his anger. The guests gradually left. As the wind howled along the coast, I returned to my room alone. As soon as I pushed the door open, a strong stench of blood hit me. I saw the bloodstains on the ground. The puppy was lying there, with its eyes closed and its breathing stopped.

“Then we make it worth it.” As the pack regroups, the healed forest begins to wither anew. From the shadows, a single violet eye glints—the First Shadow, alive within the scar on Silas’s chest. *“Mine,”* he whispers, unheard.

So the head warrior, Arlo, got started with our lesson and he wasn’t holding back this morning. He said that we all knew what was going on and we needed to be ready. To survive and protect the people that we love. As soon as training was over I headed upstairs of the packhouse to get ready for school. But I saw something strange in the upstairs sitting area, so I walked over towards the back of the couch and I saw my stepmother Jillian passed out with a martini glass in her hand.
