Chapter 4 : Welcome to serenity Lyra woke up to the sound of her alarm. For a few seconds,she lay still, staring at the ceiling.Today was her first day at work. She slowly sat up and swung her legs off the bed. The floor was cold under her feet. She hugged herself for a moment, then stood up. “Be brave,” she whispered. She walked into the bathroom and turned on the light. The mirror showed her tired eyes and pale face. Lyra turned on the shower. Warm water rushed down, filling the small bathroom with steam. She closed her eyes and let the water run over her head.

I asked as he took a shot too. “Emory.” “I’m Iris, well I guess you kinda already knew that didn’t you.” Emory chuckled as he wiped his mouth. “Yeah.” We sat there drinking together for about twenty minutes before I got too hot and needed a breath of fresh air. I excused myself and found myself wandering to the same side door that leads out to the patio. I drunkenly hopped from stone to stone as something warm and powerful in my chest pulled me towards the cliff's edge. I stood there at the edge for a moment, hypnotized by the waves going back and forth. The water sparkled brightly as the light from the full moon shone onto them. A noise draws me from my trance, it’s Emory and he’s standing

When I saw the happy smile on Mom's face, I suddenly felt myself becoming lighter. I gently caressed her smiling, happy face, and I silently gave her my best wishes. "Mom, you have to be happy forever!" A crystal-clear tear slid slowly down Mom's cheek and fell into my palm. However, my body soon began to become as transparent as the teardrop itself, until I finally disappeared into the air.

The hoots of the night owls, the whistle of the night breeze, and the constant titters of the night crickets all disappeared. For a brief moment, it was as if time itself had stopped. There was absolute silence. “Mate…it’s you, isn’t it?” The thrilled voice of the entranced female cautiously rang out again, the slight tremble in her tone conveying her nervousness. Thud…thud…

Chapter 115 Tarlyn’s POV The rain had stopped, but the world felt silent. This silence settled after a storm. It was clean on the surface but rotten underneath. This quiet didn’t mean peace. It meant waiting. It meant holding its breath. It meant pretending everything wasn’t still broken.

But when Lillia finally spoke, her voice was strong. “When fear spreads without a face, seek not the scream, but the silence that follows it.” Good, Fenris murmured under her breath. But now, we are done seeking. The soothing sound of water cascading from the fountain was inviting. I walked over to the bench and took a seat. The gentle, rhythmic sound of the water was so relaxing and soothing that I didn't notice myself drifting off to sleep. The weariness of the journey, combined with the peaceful ambiance of the garden, was too much for my tired body to resist.
