He’d just stumbled into the middle of it, clueless and angry, flailing like a wild animal in a cage.
I paused outside Aunt Marjorie’s door, straightened my shirt, and put on my most charming smile before knocking lightly.
“Aunt Marjorie?” I called softly, pitching my voice to sound warm and excited. “Are you awake?”
There was a shuffling noise inside, followed by her sleepy voice. “Tyler? It’s the middle of the night.”
