He gestured at the lack of a back seat, his tone dripping sarcasm.
Her brows pulled together at his confusion. “She’ll sit on your lap, obviously.”
James blinked. “Oh.”
“Ugh! Come on.”
His bag went into the small trunk and Rachel got out to let him sit down first. He saw that she had on a very short mini-skirt. Yeah, ‘cause this is normal, he said to himself.
“Hurry, I’m cold,” Rachel complained. I wonder why?
James settled into the low-slung leather seat and she hurriedly climbed into the car, situating herself on his lap. Rachel leaned her head back on his shoulder; her lips were just inches from his ear. “Don’t get too excited, big boy.” She giggled.
