He screamed shaking in his chair, Xena and Nightingale looked at him confused, he was breathless, sweating and bewildered. "Are you okay?" Xena asked. "Y– yes it was just a nightmare" he said rubbing his face. It has been a while since he had that one, Danté realised no matter how much time passed it was edged into his mind like stone carvings. He rubbed his arms free of the sweat then lifted his hand to press the attendant button.

Mallory’s POV Sixteen years old “Ugh! I look like hell!” I groaned to myself, taking in the dark circles under my eyes and the sallow look to my skin reflected in my bathroom mirror. I’d been having the same nightmare since I was seven years old but somehow it still managed to rob me of sleep. Last night was no different, leading to my current predicament. What a great way to start the day, my sixteenth birthday. “Let’s go birthday girl!” My mom called way too energetically from the living room. “Alpha and Luna are waiting for us to arrive so they can celebrate with you!”

Yawning, I take a drink of water from the night stand, before getting in bed and pulling up the covers. Just as I close my eyes, I hear a familiar scratching noise from the closet. Opening them, I bolt up in bed. Bubba, my fearless monster slayer is laying on the floor comatose, but he hears it too and jumps up. I notice that his ears are perked up and he cocks his head as he tries to hear something over by the closet.

I might not be able to stop this but I was sure not going to give up. I looked deep in his eyes and screamed bloody murder. As I screamed I felt a warmth roll over me and a bright light shot everywhere. Nick froze and then blood began to pour from his ears and nose.

Shoelaces of snot hung from his nose, his head was bowed, not daring to look up. The creature towered over him, bending slightly to sniff at the air above his head. Its lips curled back from its gums to reveal needle-sharp teeth and it hissed, its misshapen clawed hands hovering over his head. Flexing its thin, bony fingers, it pushed and Leon's head jerked upwards, his body snapping backwards in an unnatural angle. His eyes were wide pools of terror, his mouth set in an agonised grimace. Leaning close to his face, the creature opened its mouth wide, but instead of biting down on Leon's head, which is what I had expected, it let out a drum-shattering shriek, like a thousand birds now filled

“Glad y’all could make it, but the game’s just about over.” “Yeah, it’s no wonder those guys can’t bat for shit. They’re all down there having wet dreams about you.” Andi pulled out a chair and sat down in front of the machine, and Beth slid down so that her friend had more room to run it for her. “Is it a wet dream if you’re awake?” Lexy asked, dropping into a seat behind Beth. “Does it matter?” Brittany asked, taking the last of the folding chairs. “They’re definitely distracted.”

He woke up gasping for air, drenched in sweat, his heart drummed like a machine gun. The last thing he remembered was his dad choking him against the wall, he tried to pull his hand off his neck but his tiny arms gave way. He hadn't had those nightmares in a while, not after Charlie. He curled up in his bed, feeling like a little boy again, all alone in the dark. Fear paralyzed him, when he looked at the clock on the bedside, it was only 10 minutes after 4 AM.

His lips curled up at the corner, a sinister expression that sent a shiver down my spine. "Mate," Sasha's voice echoed in my head, a whisper escaping my lips as my strength drained away. "Please let me go," I pleaded, desperate for an escape from this chilling reality.

Something was definitely brewing there. Finally, we pulled into a gravel lot. I leaned forward, trying to see what this “spontaneous” adventure was. “Is that what I think it is?” I asked slowly, staring at the dilapidated structure ahead. Eli’s grin told me everything. “What the actual hell…” I whispered, my eyes locking on the chipped paint, broken windows, and vines crawling up the walls like nature was trying to warn us.
