Blood And Desire
Skye stood silent, the parchment still extended, the weight of Dixon’s sorrow pressing down like the winter sky outside and filling the space like frost.
Skye slowly lowered his outstretched arm, the parchment crinkling faintly as his hand fell to his side. Confusion creased his brow—he wasn’t sure if Dixon expected an answer, or if the question had been meant for the silent woman on the slab. His gaze drifted back to her. Even in death, she was strikingly beautiful: silver hair fanned like moonlight, features serene and delicate, face peaceful amid the flowers. A flicker of admiration passed through him before a frown settled on his face.
