Felix tugged a bit before single-handedly carried her back inside, all the while she struggled in his grasp. The moment the door shut is when Zalakai's smirk disappeared from his face and turned a dark gaze on the two Scout Demons. They looked at him and cowered immediately under his glare. He towered over them as he rolled up his sleeves, his tattoos revealed. Tribal markings lined his wrists and wrapped around his forearms. The creatures continued to tremble before him as his nails sharpened into claws and swiped at them swiftly. Their screeches filled the air as they reeled back and covered their bloodied faces.

At the end of the whip was a three-way split, with a metal claw attached to the tips. "I am their savior..." Zalakai's eyes narrowed. "And your executioner."

She held her ground, the golden light in her chest flaring into a protective dome that sent the creature reeling back toward the jury box. My invisibility had gone with the energy I'd used for the blast and I could only stare up at the deformed man before me. "What are you?" I blurted, catching Zelos off guard. "Do not try to seduce me, female, you are not my type," he growled. Feeling bile rise in the back of my throat I choked out," You are not my type either, sir."

I narrowed my eyes at her. “Well, it wouldn’t have hurt if you were our alpha’s real mate you little lyi—” Zaliver appeared behind the girl. His expression was a livid one, and his eyes were the deadly black that would suck you into his darkness. The air around him was frightening. His hair had fallen over most of his face, masking his true expression. Whatever it was, it was horrific, and I just knew. He made eye contact with me. I don’t know how, but I just had the feeling his eyes scanned over me before narrowing.

Inside the inferno, Danial stood unburned—his calm, collected form emerging slowly from the wall of fire, a faint smirk on his face. Zyler tilted his head, amused. “These are flashy tricks. They won’t work against me.” Danial’s smirk deepened. “Let’s find out.” With no warning, he dashed forward. The dome collapsed into sparks as he launched like a blazing arrow.
