It was nothing like the average size for the bathrooms of the packhouse so why was it so small? Plastic chairs were tucked at the corners of this tiny prison, and the roof and floors were covered in ceramic. There was a light bulb overhead the center, not as bright as it should be therefore making the corners dimmer—that wasn’t a problem for us anyway.

If it weren’t for the fact I was not in the mood to be jovial, I might have laughed at her. The room was relatively small, its walls lined with hundreds of books. Most of which look old enough to belong to a museum rather than sitting in Lilith’s private miniature library. The smell of dust and decaying paper tickled my nose. Dust motes swirling around before me dancing in the thin beam of light coming from a small solitary window.

He’s still wearing his black polo shirt tucked in his black pants. “I don’t think the space is enough for us.” I turned to look at him. “The space is good for two, Hendrix. Just don’t think about making Kylie sleep with us, we would probably die due to loss of air.” I joked, shrugging my shoulders as a sign of nonsense. Folding my last piece of shirt, I purposely took one of my underwear and smelled it while having eye contact with Hendrix. He looked shocked at what I did, as if he got traumatized.

We had a few weeks to empty everything out, but they would reorganize the inventory to make room in a few days. Grampa gave me a look over his reading glasses. “We can rent a small storage unit, but I don’t want to replace the money we’re saving with a new expense. We need to scale to about forty percent of the space we’re using to make room for your coffee shop idea.” I nibbled on my lip, hating that he was right. The second floor was primarily dedicated to historical, nonfiction, and rare books. I’d handpicked many of them, hoping they would find a home with the right people, but all they did was take up space. They hadn’t earned us any money or popularity.

We came back to the living room and kitchen where he twirled in the space. “Now! Jordy!” Basil snapped his fingers. “The books!” His assistant came forward, pulling out four different books, thick enormous books and basically slammed them down on the kitchen counter. Walking over, I peered at them. Basil came up behind me. “There is a book for bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms, living room and lounge, and outdoor spaces. Look and show me what jumps out at you.” I nodded. Sitting down, I opened up the bedroom book first. Flipping through the pages, I stopped about the fifteen pages in.

I spin to accuse Maverick, only to find he silently slipped from my room. So, like any calm, cool headed woman, I grab the blanket and march my ass over the threshold to his room. He wants to invade my space and privacy? Fine. Tit for tat, Maverick. Tit for Tat. I glance around the barren room, surprised by how tiny his space is. His bed is a quarter of the size of my California king and he has no sitting area where I have almost a full size living room. He is clearly not lurking in this tiny room, so I move to the only place he could be.

My shift start in twenty minutes.” I passed per he, grabbing my shoes on door from the front and sliding on my feet. Liam looked huge in my tiny apartment. All O space consisted in one single convenient with one sink, some cabinets, a chest of drawers, a small round table and three chairs, and just enough space for the single mattress that was on the floor in the corner.
