She gave a soft smile — the kind that didn’t reach her eyes. “Just that the game’s finally begun.”

but he wasn’t smiling at me. she was across from him. red sweater, black hair twisted up, a little loose like she wanted it to fall. laughing too loud, the kind of laugh that fills a room even when nobody asked for it. leaning in, elbow propped, eyes glued to him like he was the only man alive. and he… he gave her that smile. not the half-grimace he gives at work, not the one he used on me when he thought i wasn’t watching. this one was soft, warmer, like he’d been saving it.

You forced your lips to relax into a polite smile. "I accept."

“Okay? I want to keep it going. Whatever this is.” I feel my face soften before I can stop it. “Whatever this is,” I repeat, smiling.

her tone was grateful, she was happy he didn't try to pry words out of her mouth even though she wouldn't have replied. "Derrick..." he didn't demand hers but the suspense made Smiles aware that he was waiting for hers...she didn't want to tell him but looking into it, what's the big deal? it's not like something will change and since he is working for the Mr. CEO, she will at least have someone to talk to only if she makes herself approachable... "Smiles" her voice was soft and soothing to the ears. His smiles widened. "I couldn't believe such a name exists..." he jokes and the girl glares at him hard...

"You're not a robot after all." ​I felt a small smile tugging at the corners of my mouth. "Maybe not," I admitted softly. ​"Awww, you just smiled!" she beamed, pointing at my cheeks. I immediately pulled my face back into a serious look. ​"I didn't smile." ​"That wasn't so hard, was it, Softie?" she said teasingly again, batting her eyes at me. ​I furrowed my brows at the sound of that word 'softie.' She burst into a hard laughter, and the sound was so catching that I found myself uncontrollably smiling again.

A smile smeared on my face. Boom!

As she looked at me, a warm smile formed on her lips, radiating kindness. “You must be Julian,” she said, her voice carrying a soothing tone. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Her smile reached her eyes, illuminating the room with its genuine warmth. I couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward, my smile faltering as I nervously replied, “Ahh, sorry, I’m Daisy.”
