Snipers. I spotted one on the rooftop ahead, his rifle aimed directly at Damian. Without hesitation, I lifted my gun and fired. The shot struck the sniper’s shoulder, causing him to falter, but not enough to take him down. He readjusted quickly, his aim shifting—toward me. Before he could pull the trigger, Damian’s bullet tore through his skull, sending his lifeless body toppling over the edge. “Stay close,” Damian ordered, grabbing my wrist and pulling me toward the cover.

His claws extended, gleaming in the moonlight, and he drove them straight into the man's shoulder. The scream that followed made my stomach turn. "I'll ask again." Damien twisted his hand, and the sniper convulsed. "Who. Sent. You?" "Luca lives through us!" The sniper gasped. "We swore revenge! We're not going to stop until—" Damien didn't let him finish. His claws ripped across the man's throat in one brutal swipe. Blood sprayed across the ground. The body crumpled. I couldn't breathe. The silence that followed pressed down like a weight.

Nixon sighs, "If you come out with your hands up, we'll spare you." "Right." The sniper quickly responds, his rifle peeking over the rock before he fires. Nixon jumps off the cliff back to the ground below next to Tsuki and Hinata. Nixon groans, clutching his back in pain as the bullet had already long since passed. The sniper begins to pant wildly, curling up into a ball and grasping onto their leg as hard as they could. They dig their face into the snow, eye peeking through the hole in their makeshift mask, watching as Seth approaches.

The sniper's rifle trained on Damian, finger tightening on the trigger. "Damian, down!" I screamed, firing my weapon. The sniper jerked, a crimson blossom spreading across his chest as he crumpled to the ground. Damian glanced back, eyes wide with a mix of gratitude and fear. "Elara!" Before I could respond, a searing pain tore through my side. I stumbled, blood seeping between my fingers as I clutched the wound. Darkness edged my vision, but I forced myself to stay conscious. "Fall back!" Damian's voice echoed, strong and commanding.

No one… Had ever stood between him and a bullet before. High above them… A sniper whispered into his radio. “Chairman…” “She’s shielding the target.” Patrick’s reply came immediately. “Shoot anyway.” The sniper hesitated. “But we’ll hit Miss Wellspring.” Patrick’s voice remained emotionless. “I gave you an order.” The sniper closed one eye. Steadying his aim. His finger tightened on the trigger. Dominic saw it happen. There was no time to think. Only time to choose.

Getting out of the car and rushing him was an option. A bad one. Not with Annie in his arms. And not with a gun already pressed against her. I needed something faster. Something cleaner. My hand closed around the sniper rifle resting beside me. Slowly, I raised it. The laser settled between his eyes. He saw it. And smiled. I smiled back. For a second, neither of us moved. Then he began to pull the trigger. I fired first. The shot cracked through the night. His head snapped backward. The gun slipped from his hand.

The wind howled outside the clinic as Arielle and Xavier walked toward his parked car. Her fingers were still wrapped tightly around the DNA report, knuckles pale. “Are you okay?” Xavier asked gently, unlocking the passenger door for her. “No,” she admitted, sliding in. “But I will be.” As the door shut with a soft thud, a black SUV parked two streets over turned on its headlights. From the driver’s seat, the figure known only as “S” adjusted a silencer on a matte black pistol, eyes fixed on the couple through a sniper lens.

He moved fast, slipping between the shadows, his steps silent on the bloodstained ground. A man stood in his path. Victor didn’t slow. He easily sent a knife to his ribs. A sharp twist. The man dropped, his mouth open in a silent scream. More gunfire. More chaos. Then—a flicker of movement above. Victor’s instincts screamed—sniper. He reacted instantly. Dropped to one knee. Raised his gun. Fired. The sniper fell from the rooftop, his body crashing through a shattered window. The smell of death thickened, mixing with burning oil and gunpowder. Victor took a deep breath to steady his slightly trembling heart as he listened to the screams, the gunfire and the explosions.

His love and care were slowly melting the walls around her heart away. Silvia wouldn't deny it. She was a little scared. Afraid to get her heart broken if she trusted Hunter again. He wouldn't break her because if he did. She'd kill him for sure. The door was knocked once before it opened to reveal Xander in a suit. His grayish-black hair combed back perfectly. The tux hugged his body perfectly. His forest eyes had a sweet smile in his gaze. "You look beautiful," He complimented, walking over to her as he held his hands out and she placed her small hands in his big ones.
