Snow Falling On Cedars Novel Novels & Stories

⸻ Thousands of miles away, Amelia Carter awoke before dawn. She sat upright in bed, her heart racing. The dream had felt real. She had seen snow-covered mountains beneath a sky filled with ravens. A single cedar tree stood in the middle of the frozen landscape. Its roots reached beneath the ice. Someone had whispered her name. Then everything had vanished. She glanced toward the window. The first rays of sunlight were breaking over the horizon. “It was only a dream,” she murmured. Yet the feeling refused to leave her. ⸻ Later that morning, Marcus arrived carrying two cups of coffee.

I thought for a moment and said no. Our paths had split for good. His situation no longer had anything to do with me, but Ted clearly had other ideas. Up north, the snow arrived early that year. It was only December, yet flurries were already blanketing everything. The small town hummed with a peaceful stillness, the snow falling softly, undisturbed by the usual chaos of city life. Chase and I had just finished grocery shopping. We were heading home when I spotted a solitary figure standing under a streetlight.

A few minutes later, back in the main room, Arthur adds another log to the fire while I pour us each a glass of mulled cider—non-alcoholic for me, although Arthur doesn’t know that. “It’s starting to snow,” Arthur says, nodding toward the window. I move to stand beside him, watching as fat, fluffy snowflakes drift down from the dark sky. It’s almost magical, the way they catch the light and the way frost curls across the cabin windows in tiny fractals. “Perfect timing,” I say. “Miles will be thrilled to have fresh snow in the morning.” Arthur slips his arm around my waist and me close against his side. “This was a good idea, coming here for the holiday.”

As she turned to leave, the air from her cloak caused the candlelight to flicker. I knew they'd really come to discuss Bloodmoon Pack matters. Since I had no say in those affairs, avoiding them was wise. Two days after responding, the first snow of winter fell—a light dusting that quickly ceased. Despite the cold, I took Cedric to the garden. Some wax-plum blossoms had opened, their yellow flowers sweetly fragrant and strikingly beautiful. Cedric was delighted, his face flushed but beaming. He tried to speak, placing his hand on his throat, but couldn't make a sound, growing more flustered.

Lila’s POV I stumbled out of the cab and the cold air hit my face hard enough to make the world tilt. My phone kept buzzing in my bag but I ignored it and leaned against a brick wall to catch my breath. Snow fell soft and quiet around me and the streetlights blurred into halos. I knew what waited if I looked online. My name was everywhere. My face next to Zane’s with headlines screaming mistress and homewrecker and gold-digger. Tomorrow would be hell but tonight I just needed to forget.

The wheels in my head started running the moment Cassius barged inside my room with that question. The expression on his face tells me that it’s going to be a long talk. With the furrowed brows and pressed lips, he looked bothered. His voice was low and gentle, “Feyre,” “What is it?” I asked with my brows knotted. He strode towards the glass door of the balcony and closed it. That’s when I noticed that there’s a snowstorm outside. The white, crystalline snow kept striking the ground. I saw how the bright flash of lightning had struck the sky, creating some cracks across the heavens.

***** Edith The dream The winter was severe in Newyork. It was the month of December raining heavily accompanied by thunders. The sky was black surrounded by dark clouds in the night. I was in Allesandro's house sitting in front of the bonfire rubbing my hands to one another to generate some heat. "Edith, here is your hot chocolate." Allesandro hands me my mug and squats beside me sipping his own drink.

The morning broke with a brittle chill, the kind of cold that settled deep beneath the skin and made every breath sharp and fleeting. Frost coated the pine needles and the earth, glittering faintly under the pale light of a winter sun struggling to rise. I stood at the edge of Ashfang camp, my wolf Nyx restless beneath the surface, sensing the tension that clung to the forest like a suffocating shroud. Ahead of me stretched the wild, tangled maze of Frostwillow — a land both beautiful and dangerous, where twisted trees loomed like dark sentinels and ancient shadows whispered of things best left forgotten.

Chapter 28 Caleb’s Silence Breaks POV - Caleb The snow was falling heavier by morning, each flake swirling lazily before vanishing against the pine boughs. It muffled the world into a strange kind of stillness, the kind that made you think you were the only soul alive for miles.

After failing to seduce his ice queen CEO wife, Josie Sinclair, for the 999th time, Tyler Ford finally called his sister Zoey. "I've decided to get a divorce, Zoey." There was three-seconds of silence before Zoey said solemnly, "I told you long ago that you would never be able to bring someone like Josie down from her pedestal." Tyler teared up as he smiled. "You're right. I was way over my head."
