I lose my balance and tumble down the ravine. My head hits a jutting rock and my body feels pummeled as I bounce down the rocky side. The feel of my broken body cutting through the icy water is the last thing I remembered. The pain was finally gone.

At least that's always worked for me. Getting inside, I sit and take off my shoes before putting my skates on. Stepping onto the ice, I stop. Why the hell is Ryker here? He's leaning against the boards, smirking. I'm too fucking hung over right now to deal with this. Exhaling sharply, I rub a hand down my face and step onto the ice fully. The final image I had before losing consciousness was Xander's concerned face as he caught me in his arms.
