I was alone. The fire inside me surged despite the suppressant, burning through the chemical fog with pure determination. My hands ignited—not the wild, uncontrolled flames of my early days, but focused heat that obeyed my commands. A hunter lunged toward me with silver netting extended, and I thrust my palm forward, sending a concentrated blast of fire directly into his chest. He flew backward, his tactical vest smoking, his gas mask shattered by the impact. "She's active!" someone shouted. "Focus on the hybrid!"

He got this jet black hair and crimson eyes with a grim smile so lifeless that could make any living creature tremble in fear. “H-huh?” Stunned and scared as I am, I was not able to respond immediately. He gave me a stoic expression as if waiting for me to give a different reply. “Should I?” he repeated. I nodded slowly and he carried me in a bridal style as I clung onto him tightly. His pale neck smelled intoxicatingly good. In a blink of an eye, we were outside. He snapped his finger and I was stunned as the whole building blew up with fire.

Sonya replies. “That may be true. But I also know that he won’t kill me.” I state. “And why is that?” She asks. “Because I hold all the cards. Isn’t that right, Blaze.” I retort. I can see Blaze struggling with himself, but ultimately he lowers the gun, proving me right. “Blaze?! What the hell are you doing!” She shouts at him. “Scarlett! Stop.” Blaze remarks. I can see it was painful for him to do so, but he’s a smart man. There’s nothing he could say or do to make him prove that he had control. When really that had fallen onto me, the moment Blaze arrived.

The goblin speech was like listening to birds and lizards all at once, saturated with high tones and heavy on the ears. Shieena spoke and the goblin listened. Then he slapped her. His hand flew through the air and slapped her with considerable force. Nio reacted instinctively and by focusing his magic pushed the goblin away. After creating a hole where they could finally fit in, Byul immediately climb up and pointed his gun towards the zombies. Some time after, Stanley also climb up and scanned the surrounding area with his sense. The rain was pouring heavily and the thick fog won’t let them be seen from below. I started singing along, my voice loud and off-key. Blaze’s eyes widened, his head whipping toward me. “Oh my god. What is that sound?” I smacked his arm, laughing. “Hey! I’m an amazing singer, okay?” He grinned, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Sure you are. I’ve heard dying cats sound better.” I gasped, my jaw dropping. “Take that back!” He shrugged, his lips twitching. “Nope.” I narrowed my eyes, a mischievous smile forming on my lips. “Fine. Then I’ll just sing louder.”

The impact threw debris into the air, and the shockwave hit my chest like a hammer. She stood in the crater she’d made, her gaze sweeping across us with no hint of recognition, only rage. How were we supposed to knock her unconscious when she could dodge everything we threw at her? We needed to disorient her. I reached behind me and pulled out the Sonic screamer. Its sharp hum vibrated against my palms as I powered it on. I gave Quin a signal, a single nod. She raised another Dream Blaster. “On my mark,” I said, tightening my grip.

"Look at you, all eager to please. You didn't even offer anything in return. Why would she help you out?" He then handed me a card. "I'm Daniel Jenkins. Here's a little something for our first meeting. ZenWave's beauty clinics are all part of my family business. With this card, you can enjoy unlimited visits." ZenWave was a well-known, high-end beauty clinic chain. A single visit there could cost tens of thousands of dollars. This gift was too generous. I didn't take the card, but Leon snatched it from Daniel's hand and stuffed it into mine.

But I couldn’t leave it alone. “You seem to really like it,” I said, making a comment because I wasn’t ready to let him slip back into silence just yet. Blaze finally turned to me. “Yeah. Don’t you?” He asked me a little concerned. I shrugged slightly. “I’m not sure what it’s about.” Blaze raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing but sharp. “And you’re supposed to be supporting your old high school crush.” He shook his head, then leaned in close, his voice dropping to a whisper. “How about we play a game? Something to help you focus.”

Almost. I froze, my breath catching. My eyes dropped to the ground. Beneath my foot, a square stone depressed slightly, its edges glowing with a sinister red light. "Oh no..." The silence shattered. A piercing wail ripped through the air, sharp and mechanical, reverberating against the stone walls. The sound was followed by the grinding of gears, the snapping of bolts, the unmistakable thunder of mechanisms awakening. Red lines flared across the walls and ground, rushing outward in a spiderweb of light.
