It was the Eclipse Coven. "To arms!" I swung my blade out and roared. Like shadows in the night, the first wave of invaders broke through the trees. The Eclipse warriors were unlike the typical wolves. Their bodies warped in and out of the darkness, shimmering. It seemed as though an abyss had devoured their black eyes. Then they hit. A warrior with his claws aimed at my throat sprang at me from my left. At the last moment, I spun, raising my blade in a broad arc. Leo watched the whole thing with a smirk. “Confirmed,” he said, his voice full of satisfaction. “You do hold the Eclipse Essence. How interesting.” He took a step back, his form starting to dissolve into shadows. “This isn’t the right time to destroy you both,” he continued with a growing smile. “But soon. Very soon.”

“Look at that. It works on raging shifters and super-powered nymphs.” Zephyra laughed then realized he was still holding her face. The space around them seemed to suddenly become charged as they stared at each other. His eyes dropped to her lips, and she wanted more than anything for him to kiss her.
