His burning fingers adjusted the knot of the silk scarf wrapped around Sora’s neck. The fabric felt sweltering, suffocating, and abrasive as it rubbed against the reddish-purple bite mark still throbbing beneath the skin. Sora stared at his reflection in the dressing room mirror. He was encased in a stiff white suit. It was a stark contrast to the black bloodstains he had just scrubbed from beneath his fingernails at the studio.

“But that’s alright. Nico will do too.“ I snicker as we walk toward our dorm. Although she is right. We have never been to Jonas’ place. My assumption is: either he doesn’t throw many parties or those are super exclusive. It’s Halloween today. I took four days off from work like Mikolaj asked me to. And got so much personal work done. I hadn’t realized I needed it this much. I am not in mood to go trick or treating, but Ira and Natalie are insisting. We spent the past few days working on our costumes. We saw Orora waiting for us in the living room, and when she sensed our presence, she raised her brows at us. "Shall we teleport now?" She asked impatiently. I just smiled at my sister, who, for the first time, wore a bright outfit. She was drop-dead gorgeous in her simple strapless one-piece attire that exposed her beautiful collarbone and flawless legs. "How does your outfit stay like that?" Demeter asked, creasing her eyebrows at Orora's top. "Did you put magic in your attire tonight?" She referring to the strapless dress. Obviously, Orora put some hocus-pocus on her attire. If not, her dress would have fallen on the floor, leaving her with only her innerwear.

And he kept walking upstairs. I returned an hour later to buy an outfit for the Halloween party I'm going tomorrow. I wanted to try on some cocky clothes in the store since I decided to dress up as a witch. So I got a cat-print crop top, ripped shorts, and a mask. I also purchased a pair of black boots and a black cape. I was really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing my friend's reaction because I had never dressed up like this before. My phone rang just as I was about to change. It was Henry asking me where I was. I quickly picked up the phone. "Hey, Henry, what's up?"

All of them retreated as they coughed out a mouthful of blood in mid-air as sounds of clapping rang in the air. Sora was so shocked that he fell on the ground rear first. Then, he gritted his teeth and said, "Darkness! I want you to help me one last time!" Whoosh! When he said that, a figure suddenly pounced out from Sora's shadow. The figure was completely covered in black, with only his mouth and nose colored white. He was holding a blade that was as black as night in his hand. He seemed to have appeared out of nowhere and headed straight for Harvey.

--- The sun was low on the horizon when they stepped out. Sorcha wore a black silk dress that clung to her like second skin, slit high on one side. Her hair was tied up messily, a few strands escaping to curl at her temples. Karios walked beside her, one hand tucked into his jacket pocket, the other brushing hers occasionally, as though reminding himself she was real. They didn’t speak much on the way. They didn’t need to.

Tara is dressed as the babysitter killer queen, Raya is dressed as, well, Raya in the Raya and the last dragon movie, Ella as Cinderella, Ashley is dressed as Tinkerbell, Darlene is dressed as Batman even though she argues that no character is limited to their gender and makes everyone laugh, Holly is dressed in all black, even down to a black mask, no idea what movie character that is but she claims she's seen it in a movie she watched a long time ago, Harry is dressed like spiderman, Tanya dressed as a Prom queen teases him about being childish but he just rolls his eyes at her. She was already dressed, waiting for her ride to come and pick her up but no one had showed up, not even after Agatha had left for the party on her own dressed as a sexy witch. Soralina was dressed as a fairy, her long pink gown floating all the way down to the floor which matched perfectly with her cotton candy pink hairs. Even her lenses were pinks, and so were her lips. She looked like the epitome of happiness, of cupcakes and rainbows, but at that very moment, she didn’t feel like it at all. “No news yet?” Came the voice of Lucian as he leaned against the doorframe of the balcony entrance, while Soralina looked down from the her position on the balcony. “No. Nothing.”

Willy tried to explain to the startled bystanders, who were now looking amused, when he tried to explain the blue skin colour of Orbin the Incubus of the Succubus realm (or Succubino land). “Dude! How do you explain me--- to them?” Tristian the Reptilian inched closer and whispered. “Oh! And I forgot to mention. This here, is a guy dressed up, in a Lizard skin costume, because we are going to a Halloween party,” Willy elaborated further to the crowd. “Duh?! Halloween’s like a month away from now!” The Reptilian whispered sarcastically. Willy faked a laugh and he threw up his hands, “Sorry I meant to say we are going to a Halloween rehearsal.”

"I still feel a little, obsolete, I guess, not wearing anything on a day like Halloween," I say, seeing as how many of the other teens in school are a little more special looking with colors they don't usually have placed into their attire. That's just the tame side of things, while other teens have gone all-out with the constumes. There's a T-rex and a fariy queen chatting and walking by, and in one of the doorways I can spot a teen in a bee costume. There's even a teacher who has a crazy-scientist wig on, who is merrily talking and holding up a pumpking for another faculty member, dressed in the star and moon robe of a wizard.
