Scrolling through the other messages, I finally found a peaceful spot. Lorne: [Good morning, Chloe. I'm coming to pick you up. Don't forget sunscreen today. The sun is really strong.] I: [Got it.] Feeling bored, I clicked into his private page and scrolled through his posts until I came across an invitation, with the caption: [Here we go.] I sat up straight, staring at the invitation. Then a laugh escaped my mouth because it was an invitation to a private gathering from the Lockhart family. No wonder...

'Better judgment than most people,' he agreed, and she felt him smile against her hair, and she laughed — full and real and from somewhere deep — and he laughed too, that low unguarded sound she had been collecting since the very beginning. Outside, the last night of winter was snowing. Soft and slow, the kind that isn't violent, just quiet. The sky putting something gently to rest. Spring tomorrow. Everything still to come. She held him and let herself feel the full weight of it — this life, this man, this version of herself she had built from ash and stubbornness and the refusal to stay dead. The dry well is now overflowing

Chapter 92 "Come with me". Xavier stretched out his hand for her. Caroline looked at him and took his head to let him take her anywhere. It's been two days in the Swiss Alps. They had their traditional festivals going on in between the falling snow. The twins were squealing with joy and Xiana was really excited to play in the snow. But she always engaged the twins with her. It was night and everyone had retired to their rooms. It was kind of a connected cottage style.

****** When I returned to the orphanage, the sun disappeared, and the sky became a dark orange mixed with blue. I didn’t stop in the dining room, I went straight to my room and then plunged into the bathroom and took a quick shower with warm water, colder than hot. Then I returned to my room and put on my pajamas, waiting for everyone to return. I lay in bed with my book in my hand while my companions put themselves in the beds and turned off the light, not worrying at all that I was reading. I placed my book on the bedside table and tucked it under the covers, waiting and looking at the sky through the slit created by the curtains.

Azxel placed his hand in Sky’s without shaking. “That’s better,” Sky praised softly, rubbing his thumb over Azxel’s knuckles. “See what happens when you let me touch you? You stop being scared.” Azxel looked up at him with an unsteady breath but a steady eyes like he was keen to learn. “Tell me what to do.” Sky intertwined their fingers, guiding Azxel’s hand slowly upward. “You follow me,” Sky said. “Always.” Sky kept their fingers intertwined as he guided Azxel a step deeper into the shadows behind the sports block.

The air rushed past me, blurring into a gray streak. I punched through the cloud layer in three seconds. I hit the stratosphere in ten. The sky turned purple, then black. I could see the curve of the horizon. I looked South. From this height, the wound was visible. The North was white and green. But the South... the South was a dead, gray scab. A perfect circle of desolation expanding outward from the blackened remains of the Swamp. And in the center, pulsing like a dark heart, was the Black Lotus.

Note: There will be three books in this series, so try to connect with every character. Anyone could be the main character in the next book. Sky’s P.O.V. It’s late at night, and I’m in the middle of fucking a girl from behind. The girl’s hands are tied to the bedposts, and her moans fill the room as I give her deep and hard thrusts, squeezing her buttocks. “Oh… God…” she begs, “Can I come, Sky, please…”

Maybe she had no intention of seeing him again. After some time, Nathan gently placed his phone on the table. He walked to the window and stared into the distance. His imposing figure seemed solitary and forlorn in the still room. Like a tall, sturdy tree stripped of its vibrant green foliage. … Two days later. As evening approached, the sky was bathed in shades of red by the setting sun, casting a warm glow over the land. A car pulled up at the entrance of Sudvilla. Phoebe remained in the car while Mila stepped out and entered the house alone.

South. I looked South. My blood ran cold. South was death. But it was a different kind of death. "The only vector is South," I said, pointing toward the open expanse of the Bone Wastes beyond the Scrap Fields. Barzil looked. A wall of red and black darkness was swallowing the stars. It wasn't night. It was the earth rising up to scrub the sky clean. It churned and boiled, a living entity of wind and silica. A Razor-Storm.

Not even the boyfriend. Especially not him. I stare at the hand wrapped around Sky’s wrist. The hand quickly lets go. Good. For some reason that makes my breathing easier. A little. Just a little. The notebook in front of me remains open. Pages filled. Dates. Times. Locations. Little details. All of them important. Sky likes sitting near windows. Sky always forgets his umbrella. Sky bites the inside of his cheek when stressed. Sky hates olives. Sky smiles when he’s embarrassed.
