She was barely able to keep herself conscious, giving in to her need to rest, she fell back to sleep once more. Sky found a small clearing that led to a beautiful lake, surrounded by the natural meadow. It looks like she had stumbled on the place by chance as it was clearly cut off from the rest of the forest. The unnatural growth of so many floras seemed to act like a barrier which everyone avoided; Sky had somehow found this beautiful place. The flowers and fields were like scenery painted by a professional painter. The canopy of trees surrounding the area was surreal; it allowed small rays of sunlight to filter through a few pocket holes in the shades, making it more scenic.

"The leader often talks about you. He says you're the most gifted student he's ever had." … Two months flew by, and life at the institute was simple but rewarding. Day in and day out, we dove deep into scholarly debates with the team. With me on board, we managed to push the project forward by a whole year, a new record for the institute, the leader proudly announced. Sunny had transformed from the timid junior she once was into my right-hand woman. We shared that unspoken bond, often understanding each other's thoughts with just a glance. Thanks to the dedicated care of the nurses and doctors, Grandpa finally came around.

Sky smiled. " 'Is this the emergency? " I asked a little uncertainly. I went to the bed, picking up one of the pajamas that were lying there, the set consisted of long knitted pants, full of kittens and a short-sleeved T-shirt with a big cat face printed on the front. " No, the emergency is that this is all she has to take to Florida " Sky closed the door, lowering her voice to a secret tone " And she intends to share the room with Theo on this trip.”

“Upstairs, the shelf right at the very back. If the books look old and a little dusty – rather like me – you’re in the right place.” I’d smiled politely and thanked him, but I’d felt his eyes on us as we’d walked up the stairs. I looked across the table at Skye. His right side was glowing with cold sunlight, which filtered through the warped glass of the windowpanes beside him. His dark hair shone on one side, and his brown skin was crested with glittering highlights as he shifted. His left side was shadowed, and the hollow around his eye was steeped in oozing darkness.

The memory of the previous day's events rushed in all at once. He sat up, glanced at the room's soft, stylish decor, and blinked at the figure still sleeping soundly on the other bed. Right. He was sharing a room with Aron. It was only 7 AM, but Sky was already freshened up. The crisp suburban air called to him, so he stepped out onto the balcony. A gentle breeze kissed his skin as he stretched, the quiet world around him not yet awake. This kind of peace reminded him of home—before all the cameras, lights, and attention.

“I keep waiting to feel like I’ve reached the final chapter. But it’s like… every time I turn a page, the story just opens wider.” “That’s the trick,” River said, kissing her knuckles. “Healing isn’t the end. It’s the beginning you thought you’d never get.” They lay together in silence, hearts beating in rhythm, the night folding in around them like a favorite book. The next morning, Skye woke to her phone buzzing. She blinked at the screen. A message from Lena: Call me as soon as you wake up. Big news. Skye slipped out of bed and padded to the porch, phone pressed to her ear. Lena picked up instantly.

Started the engines. Headed north again. Toward Patagonia. Toward the estancia. Toward home. The sea was calm. The sky endless. And for the first time since the beginning, There was no next threat. No next father. No next choice. Just the man beside me.

He then asks one of our men who is behind the wheel to go as fast as the machine will allow. "Dad, what are we going to do in the harbor? There is still a long way to go before the ship leaves" I inquire.
