They found a way to reach deeper.” Rowan’s heart hammered, but her voice was steady. “Hold formation. Do not break. Everyone fall back three steps and keep your eyes forward.” The rift opened fully. A jagged tear hovered above the snow, pulsing with dark energy threaded through with Kai’s fire. It dragged at the air, tugging with a force that made Rowan’s breath catch for a second.

"This is not your fight." Evryn took a hesitant step backward, but something deep inside her stirred. There was a connection between her and the rift—a pull she couldn’t ignore. She could feel the energy in the air, crackling, alive, calling to her. It was as though the rift had sensed her presence, recognized her as its key. The creature before them, too, seemed to be aware of it. Its gaze flicked between Evryn and the rift, its body tensing as if preparing for something monumental.

" Malakai smirked when he thought of the answer. "We're ghosts baby." Malakai responded and Eden wanted to laugh, but she was so confused at the same time. "Huh? The fuck do you mean?" Eden said and looked up to see a mischievous glint in her boyfriend's eyes. "I have someone, a hacker, his name is Rhys. He'd remove everyone's DNA, their information and everything there is about them off the systems of the world. When you joined the agency, he did the same. In short, we don't exist little one." Malakai said and Eden's eyes widened. She never knew the extent to which Malakai could go.

Its spikes began to emerge as I gasped for air. It swiftly swam toward me, colliding with me at full speed, causing blood to spatter across my forehead. However, I refused to give up.
