Then, suddenly — ground. He hit it hard, knees buckling, air bursting from his lungs. When he lifted his head, he saw it: the Rift Realm. A vast expanse of floating stone islands, suspended over rivers of liquid moonlight. The air shimmered, thick with corrupted energy. And he was beginning to succeed as I dodging these rock chunks delayed me a bit but then his plan backfired and he was fucked. He came in contact with a rift valley— a split between the rocks where there was water furiously running through the middle. This rift valley was huge so it wasn’t one where he could just jump to the other side from the side we were, hence he had no choice but to halt. He halted now and I stopped at a distance behind him, realizing his new ‘no escape’ predicament. There was no need for haste anymore as I measured the distance between the rock splits and realized that I couldn’t jump it even while in the Celestial State.
