She didn’t know how the concept of time was being calculated there, and she was beginning to regret not doing further research before coming there.

She smiled again. “Should I wait for you?” the driver asked as he stopped the car. “No. I’ll be here a long time.” She gave him his money and mouthed a thank you as he sped away. Gwen couldn’t fathom why a human would build such a house so deep on the forest, so far from civilization – knowing humans and their need for socialization – but it was an advantage for her.
