He sneered and it was mixed with confidence and disdain over the men alive on this earth. Because he thought he was superior. And he was not lying.

Runolf voiced aloud the conversation he held in thoughts with the High Priest, only to boast and brag before his clan of the power he possessed. That topaz was one of the stones that made up the Gems of the Golden Serpent. This and three other topazes held by three other lords that formed the four clans of The Brotherhood of the Oracle, had the peculiarity of allowing their bearers to communicate by thoughts to each other, and with the Supreme Priest of the Brotherhood, who guarded the Golden Snake that housed the rest of the gems.

His eyes kept cutting to me, drinking me in like he couldn't believe I was real. "You're doing beautifully," his voice whispered in my mind. The front of the hall was raised, a small dais with two thrones positioned side by side. Between them stood an elderly wolf I didn't recognize, his white robes marking him as some kind of spiritual leader or elder. Behind the thrones, a banner hung from the ceiling. Silver Creek's crest was on one side, and Red Moon's crest on the other. My throat tightened. When I first came to Silver Creek, I'd been a fugitive, a "traitor". I had nothing and no one. Now I was about to become the Luna, and the rightful Alpha of the pack that had cast me out.

I was about to pull away from his hug when he tightened it. “T-Tirso...” “I want a kisspirin from you, Irene.” What? K-Kisspirin?! Is that even medicine?!

Troy asked. “This generation it’s Stryxx and Dove. Last generation it was Shyfter and Anaki. Our OG generation was Kurgi and Skye. That makes 3 different, distinct wolf spirits inside of Rei! There is no better human.” Dove smiled. “I will agree to sit with you, be candid and honest with you about Briar, Kitsune, and I, you let Briar live, and punish me as you see fit.” Troy offered.

I fisted my hand and banged it on the table, catching his attention immediately. ”Will you fucking say it? Or I must beg you?” I yelled, irritated at his dramatic plays. He looked at me and smirked, noticing my evident nervousness and irritation. The anger returned in waves, and the air became too hot to breathe. Maddox leaned towards me, grabbed the strand of my hair, and turned it over in his fingers. ”Spirit.” He said, ”I think you’re the spirit that will bring prosperity, good health, and favorable fortune to those possessing it.”
