It wasn't like a very huge pain, more like a stabbing one that goes and comes. Earlier, it was manageable, but now, whenever the pain hit, I could barely breathe. The pain in my chest increased, radiating down my left arm and up into my shoulder. My breath came in shallow gasps, each one hotter and sharper than the last. The weight lifts. I don't move. I don't breathe. I press my forehead to the cold ground and breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth and shake. The heat is still in my blood.
