Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend
"God, my back is killing me. We slept on the floor. Why did we sleep on the floor?"
Cale turned his head. The movement pulled at a muscle in his neck. A sharp, hot line of pain shot down his spine, radiating out to his shoulders.
"Pain," Cale whispered, testing the word.
Elion froze. He leaned over, his face filling Cale's vision. Green eyes. Gold flecks. Dark circles under the lower lids.
"Bad pain?" Elion asked, his hand hovering over Cale's chest. "The leg?"
"Everywhere," Cale said. He lifted his hand. It felt heavy, like it was made of lead and gravity. "My neck. My shoulder. My hip. It aches. A dull, persistent throb."
