I move to wipe it off and then remember the all too familiar liquid that coats my hand like a second skin. Blood. Looking up into the night sky, the stars seem to twinkle, unaware of the turmoil I face. Suddenly a wave of bitterness washes over me. Why do I always have to play the fool? With an angry grunt I swing the knife down. Red explodes into the night. Dangerous and beautiful, my new favorite color.

I ran to the back of our small hut and pulled up a loose floorboard. Hidden underneath was a small spool of golden thread. It wasn't normal silk. It glowed with a soft, warm light. She then gestures Andrei’s and Sabrina’s hand that is bathed with blood to join and clasp together. As Andrei and Sabrina stood before the altar, their hands trembling with a mixture of trepidation and anticipation, an unspoken understanding passed between them. They instinctively joined their wounded palms together, allowing the mingling of their blood to create a bridge between their souls. In that instant, a surge of ethereal energy surged forth, a radiant glow barely perceptible to the onlookers, yet tangible enough to stir their hearts.

I did a quick scan of my surroundings, and then I saw it–a star like cross insignia on the wall. Starcross. I was in Starcross pack. Moonclaw’s sworn enemies, and the fun part? I was the Pack's Luna. My lips curled into a predatory smile. Fate’s indeed a bitch.

Sara crosses her arm over her chest reeling over all that I said. "it makes sense when you put it like that, but you should have let me give a piece of my fury to that blind jerk." she huffs and puffs her chest.
