Lucian stood motionless, his silver eyes fixed on her with that unreadable expression that made her want to scream. Garrick looked her up and down, and then he laughed. Not a chuckle but a full, mocking laugh that echoed off the stone walls. “This is a joke, right?” He turned to Lucian, amusement lighting his scarred face. “You want me to fight *this*? A little girl playing dress-up?” More laughter rippled through the watching wolves. Some shook their heads. Others grinned like they’d just been promised entertainment. “Won’t last thirty seconds,” someone muttered loud enough for Laura to hear.

She was like a phoenix blazing with fierce joy. Her spirit soared as she laughed with pure delight, the sound turning to tears of overwhelming happiness. "I am Marisol Speight! I am Marisol! Do you hear me? I am Marisol!" She ran through the empty wilderness, laughing while calling out to the night. The wind swept through the vast landscape, gently catching her hair and robes as if in answer to her cry. Her laughter was carried on the breeze, echoing across mountains and valleys, filling the world with her reclaimed voice.

“Pardon me. I’m searching for my friends, one is a tall brooding male with crescent moon-shaped eyes and the other is a very soft-looking girl, brown hair and brown eyes. You haven’t seen them have you?” The laughter that bubbles out of me is unexpected but powerful. It’s not fake because I feel it from the deepest part of my heart. It’s light and buttery and it’s loaded with good feelings. Cain’s chuckle is like music to my ears and when I look at him, I can see he’s surprised, but he’s not angry. There’s not a flicker of anger on his face and he looks precious. So precious that I can't help but keep staring at him until Safira breaks my action with the sound of her clearing her throat.

But then he lets out a deep chuckle, and the next thing I know, he’s scooping up bubbles and plopping them on top of my head. “You look ridiculous,” he grins. I splash him with water and start laughing. Really laughing. And I don’t even recognize the sound coming out of my mouth. It’s light and free and alive. Festar’s eyes go wide, and then his smile stretches across his entire face. “Your laugh is beautiful,” he says like he’s never heard anything like it before. I look down, cheeks burning, but he lifts my chin gently with two fingers. “Don’t hide it. I love it.”

My skin is sizzling and blistering. "Did you hit me with a fireball, little sparrow?" I ask calmly trying to keep my anger in check. My skin is already working to heal, but my pride fucking hurts. Shock dances across her eyes before amusement lights up her whole face and she begins laughing like a damn hyena. She laughs so hard she doubles over and her whole body trembles with the waves of her gut busting laugh. And it is such a gracious sound swimming through my ears. I would take a million of her fireballs to see this grubby girl so damn happy.

I laugh and I mean really laugh to the point it hurts as I hold my belly as tears leave my eyes as I try to calm myself down. “You think … oh man, you think he will come for me? Ha, you are so wrong.” I try to catch my breath in between chuckles as I take a few breaths to stop the laughter. “He is already on his way, Gaia. I will have my revenge.” I snort with laughter again. Oh, this is so funny.

Narine I was laughing my brains out, no, really. The kind of laugh that snatches breath from your lungs and leaves your ribs aching, your cheeks flushed, and your soul feeling... lighter. My stomach hurt, my eyes stung from the tears, and my cheeks felt like they'd crack from smiling so hard. Hasmik hadn't changed one bit. Leaning down I kiss the tears away. “You aren’t” I answer honestly. “Do you really think Samuel ever cried about hurting someone? I mean honestly, when he was trying to kill me he laughed a few times.” I say trying to make her laugh. “He laughed?” She asks, looking serious. “Yeah, like a starving hyena, from that one lion movie that the human communities love so much.” She smirks at me. “Did he sing too?” “Oh yeah, terrible voice though,” I say smiling.

I could feel their eyes moving from her to me. Someone behind her whispered, “Who is she talking about?” “Inconsequential?” another voice repeated quietly. I kept my gaze steady on Star who looked like I had slapped her. “Inconsequential?” she echoed, her voice losing its sweetness. I tilted my head slightly. “Did I stutter?” A faint ripple of suppressed laughter moved through the small crowd. Star’s cheeks flushed. She lowered her phone slightly, forgetting about her fake victim act. “You think you’re better than me?” she snapped.
