“So,” I said, settling back into my chair, “since this is your first session, I’ll explain how this usually works.”
My voice sounded steady. Familiar. Like routine.
Alexander didn’t move. His attention stayed on me, focused.
“Normally, when someone reaches out to me,” I continued, “we start here. In my office.”
I gestured lightly around the room, then let my hand fall back to my lap.
“This situation is slightly different,” I added. “But the first session always serves the same purpose.”
