Steins Gate Watch Order Novels & Stories

Long enough. I checked my phone. Second hour, four minutes past. I pressed into the shadow of the residential block wall and watched. Garrett appeared from the interior side of the gate, moving with his usual unhurried mass, and passed through the arch toward the residential quarter without looking in my direction. I counted. One. Two. I watched the approach path on the other side of the gate for the replacement's arrival. The replacement came into view at the count of twelve. He was early.

Let it play out. We waited for twenty agonizing minutes. Thea stood staring blankly at the marble floor, refusing to look in my direction. I stood in the shadows near the sweeping staircase, my hands shoved deep into the pockets of my trousers to hide the violent trembling in my knuckles. The heavy iron gates at the perimeter of the estate buzzed. "A black Mercedes Maybach has breached the perimeter, sir," Graham announced quietly, his hand resting on his earpiece. "It is Caroline and Robert Mercer."

He unscrewed the tiny screws one after another, carefully setting them aside so none would be lost. Gabriel watched closely, his jaw tight. Then Stone opened the casing. Gabriel’s breath caught immediately. Inside the watch was a tiny camera, perfectly hidden. So small, so well placed, that only someone with special training would ever notice it. Stone gently removed it and placed it into a clear plastic evidence bag, sealing it carefully. After that, he reassembled the watch exactly the way it was. Gabriel ran a hand over his face. “Your wife needs double protection now,” Stone said firmly.

The calmness of the morning is shattered as the attack begins. The black SUVs pull up in front of the gates. Devraj steps out calmly, surveying the mansion. With a single glance to Stephan, the order is given. Stephan signals to his men, who immediately spring into action. The first guard barely has time to react before he's taken down with a swift silenced shot. The gate is forced open, and the attack commences. Stephan’s men, swift and methodical, infiltrate the grounds, neutralizing the guards with precision. Their movements are cold and efficient, a stark contrast to the bright, sunny morning.

Way too close. I stare out the window as I try to force my breathing to stay even. Calm down Evie. They can't hurt you anymore. They won't even dare. Gravel crunches beneath the tires as we approach the huge iron gates and my heart slams. Silver Blood pack. We're here. I let out a shaky breath as memories slam into my mind without mercy. The guards stiffen when they recognize Gavin's vehicle and their eyes look at each other before they open the gates.....slowly.

_ Front door. _Thump._ “Board’s early,” Adrian said. Checking watch. 11:59 AM. 78 BPM. “I’ll—” “I got it,” I said. Shifting Isla. Careful. Don’t wake her. “You prep. I’ll stall.” _Silence._ Front door. Steel gate. Cameras. Four. I checked monitor. Not board. Susan. And two others. _Thump-thump. Thump-thump._ I opened it.

I know I can't look weak-especially to Uncle John. Dominic glances down. He knows I'm shaken but a second later jerks his head forward. We stop just feet away from a floor-to-ceiling iron gate. It's ancient, that much I'm sure of, and I watch in disbelief as he waves his hand in front, the latch somehow unlocking and the gate swinging open. We're several steps in when the sound of metal sliding on groaning gears makes me look back to see the gate glide into its original position and lock into place.

Mateo whispered over the radio. “Zahir, prepare the glitch on the cameras,” I ordered. “I need a three-minute loop.” “Thirty seconds,” he replied. The barrier was a tall metal gate covered in sensors. Mateo worked quickly, his agile fingers opening the control panel, connecting the device Raphaël had prepared. A red light blinked, then green. “Alarm deactivated. Cameras on loop. We have two minutes and forty-three seconds.” We crossed the gate in silence. The complex rose before us, a dark mass of concrete and glass against the black sky.

When I opened them again, everything had changed. The road was smoother. The trees were taller, their leaves impossibly green. The sky looked bluer, like it belonged to a painting. We drove through a second Arc just like the first, and I felt the same strange sensation, like all my bones had shifted. My stomach rolled, but I kept it together. The car finally slowed as we neared a set of black iron gates set into a tall stone wall. A sign above read, NOCTURNE PREP: Home to the new Order. Security stood at attention, watching us with eyes that missed nothing.

I ordered. "Okay, Alpha!" He replied and paced forward to the prison iron gate. I paced sideways so that he could have the perfect space to do it. "Carry that corpse!" I ordered. "Okay, Alpha!" He replied and carried the corpse out of the way. Immediately that is done, the guard stands erect and strikes the padlock with his sword giving a daunting heavy break. The padlock fell to the ground and the gate opened up. I winked my eyes and walked through the gate to see Stella's mother.
