Steins Gate Watch Order Novels & Stories

It’s as if the pack outside has come to a conclusion to just wait until the gates collapse. With a grim resolve, I position myself in front, a few feet from the gates, my warriors mirroring my stance. We all stand as one, a wall of fur and canines, our suppressed guttural noises defiant in the face of impending doom. We watch and wait as the gates continue to creak and groan, their metal frame buckling under the strain. And then, with a deafening thud that echoes through the night, the gates finally give way, collapsing in a cascade of twisted steel and splintered wood.

Several black cars were parked just outside the gate. Inside one of them, Steven sat upright in the passenger seat, eyes fixed on the front entrance of the house. He held a tablet in one hand, recording movement, tracking patterns, waiting for any chance to act. Half an hour passed. Then, finally, the gates opened. Julian stepped out first. Steven’s breath caught when he saw that all-too-familiar face. His chest clenched. Every nerve in his body screamed to follow, to act. But deep down, he knew—charging in now wouldn’t change anything. He’d be outnumbered, outpowered. All he could do was wait... and watch.

My legs carried me down the grand staircase, through the hall, past the silent servants who watched with hollow eyes. The front doors were open. The morning air hit my face, cold and sharp. I walked down the stone steps, across the courtyard, toward the massive iron gates at the end of the drive. They were closed. Of course they were. Two guards stood on either side, their faces blank. As I approached, one of them stepped forward, holding up a hand. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Sterling. The gates are sealed." "Unseal them." "I can't do that." His voice was flat, robotic. "Orders from Madam Kessler."

Allie sat beside me in the office while Nadia reviewed final instructions. “No one enters without verification,” she said. “No unplanned visitors. All deliveries are held at the outer gate.” “What about family?” Allie asked. “They call ahead.” “And Mia?” “Same process.” Allie nodded. A radio message interrupted. One of the officers at the gate spoke quickly. “Movement detected on the east camera.” Everyone became alert. The security director opened the live feed. The image showed the road beyond the gate. Empty. Then a hooded figure appeared near the edge of the frame.

They looked to Lorelai. For one sharp instant, she wanted to count the men at the gate and wait for someone with a larger claim to answer them. She let the instinct pass. The court order was in her case. The convoy was hers to direct. If the gates were meant to turn her freedom into another permission, she would make the delay visible before anyone could name it caution. She did not look back at Valerian. “Who gave that order?” The gate captain stood beneath the arch, hands visible and empty. “The city gates are closed for security review.”

The iron-gated walls of the massive Sterling Manor loomed out of the pouring rain like an impenetrable gothic fortress. Kasen Thorne sat in the leather backseat of the Maybach, his face a stoic, unreadable mask of stone. He didn't look at the towering spires of the estate, nor did he look at the grand limestone arches. But internally, a dark, primal thrill of satisfaction thrummed through his veins. The Patek Philippe watch was gone from his wrist, pawned to buy the secrets that had saved her life, but he didn't care. He had won.

The one that had brought back Iris's memories. I reached out and picked it up. It was cool against my fingers. I looked at it for a moment, then slipped it into my pocket. I walked out of the room and down the stairs. Stephen was waiting at the front entrance. He was holding a small black watch in his hand. "Take this," he said, holding it out to me. "The moment something goes wrong, click the button. We'll come in." I looked at the watch. I took it from his hand, turned it over once, then closed my fist around it. I squeezed hard. The glass cracked. The metal bent. I opened my hand and let the broken pieces fall to the floor.

Then back at the notification. The gate was — beautiful, actually. Old stone, the specific quality of something that had been built when the world still built things to last, wrapped now in the particular combination of ancient and contemporary that the academy apparently committed to as an aesthetic. Security cameras in the stone. A keycard reader beside iron hinges that had been here for a century. The app notification still waiting. I closed it. Opened it again. Closed it. "That's probably not going to make The Ranking go away," the driver said.

It wasn't just an accessory; it held deep sentimental value for me. The door to the study swung open, and Jayden entered, wearing an indifferent expression. He strode into the room, holding a watch case and a file. I reached out my hand, gesturing to him. He approached and placed the watch case in my palm. Opening it and finding the watch nestled inside, I nodded with a sense of contentment. "We managed to trace the watch and found it listed on eBay. The buyer set the price at $40 million," Jayden announced. I furrowed my brows, delicately holding the watch and examining it.

Its intricate details are too unique to be worn by two people at the same time in one neighborhood. “Maybe it’s a different watch, Miss,” The guard said. But Gabriel butted in, “Her father’s watch has his name imprinted on it.” Evina nodded in agreement. The guards then removed the watch from his arm and checked its back. “William Go?” One of the guards asked with furrowed brows. ****************************************************** “The Lord God knows exactly when to act.” ― Lailah Gifty Akita
