Tears streamed from her orbs as she pleaded. I threw one final glance at her crying face then scurried away. I needed to get away from her, to think clearly. I approached the boys, who were waiting for me outside the precinct. They had accompanied me when we had heard of Harriet's arrest. "Did you talk to her?" Steve was the first person to ask as soon as I arrived where they were. Steve had been openly crushing on Harriet ever since. But due to our friendship, he didn't dare make a move on her.

Nursing on a whiskey neat, I see some of the sponsors and make it a point to get over to the new members. A little geeky-looking guy named Steve is here for our security division. He came in with another officer and the two men walked straight to my bedside. “Mrs. Craig,” they sent their pleasantries. “Officers,” I responded with a slight nod. “Officer?” Steven called him, his tone asking the question that was in both our minds. “Would you like this to be a private conversation?” The officer asked Steven. I gave him a death stare, waiting for his response. “Oh, that's okay,” Steven replied. “Alright,” he nodded, “We have some lead on Master X,” the officer announced. I was filled with interest.

Steve's face initially lit up with happiness at the sight of Jeremy, but it quickly turned into a look of anger and determination. Without a second thought, Steve shot the man and he fell to the ground. Jeremy, who was still in shock, looked up to see Steve's face through his tears. As he looked at Steve, tears streamed down his face. Without thinking twice, Steve ran towards Jeremy and gave him a tight hug. As Maggie entered the dark room, she froze in shock. Oliver lay motionless on the ground, with a shattered phone and knife on his side. The scene was eerie and unsettling, leaving Maggie wondering what could have happened.

As the rest of the guards finally left the premises, a little silence was restored, but some other pack members still had a few things to say to each other about how Steve harboured a stranger, who was a spy in his house, despite knowing the rules of the pack. While that was still going on, Megan arrived and to her shock, the door to Steve’s house was wide open. “No no no.” She muttered under her breath, hoping that what she was thinking wasn't the truth.
