"Hey, are you okay!" Skylar's head snapped as she finally walked down the steps, encountering her elder brother, future Alpha of the Crystal heart pack, Steve, who had a bulky, muscled body, dyed silver hair, and a pair of grey orbs. "Steve!" Instantly, she became activated as she jumped into his arms, embracing him tightly while he chuckled and stroked her hair, her scent filling his nose but he frowned when a weird sensation build up in his system. She pulled back from the hug and beamed at her big brother. "When did you return, I missed you!!"

My forehead furrowed as I looked around, and found Steven. “Steven,” I murmured, while looking at him in a serious expression. “How's everything?” Steven smiled, his arms crossed, while looking at me. Steven Alberts is my gamma. The second in command in my team. Aside from being my gamma, he's also my best friend. The one who stayed with me, until I became an Alpha. “You didn't answer me yet, Maximus,” Steven replied. I shook my head, while walking back to the exclusive cabin I had in the field. Steven followed me from behind, until I arrived at my destination.

"Master treasures her more than anyone—he practically acts as if she’s his only student. I, as the senior, might as well not exist." Garrett’s background was no secret. Not only was he backed by the Rodriguez family, but more importantly, his teacher was Steven! And now, he had just revealed that Victoria’s so-called "fake daughter" was Steven’s final disciple?! Steven! That name carried immense weight!

Steve said pointing towards me who looked depressed " Omega" I responded with a was voice " Same," Lovie said " Nice" Steve responded with his usual smile

"I want Amberly Lynne dead. And I want my son in chains." Garrett stepped forward, moving away from the storm-battered windows. "You are all hunting the wrong animal," Garrett stated, his voice cutting clearly through the arguing predators. All three of them turned to look at the rogue mercenary. "Excuse me?" Victoria sneered, dropping her nail file. "Who gave the stray dog permission to speak?" Ignoring her insult, Garrett walked up to the edge of the digital map. He tapped a specific key, clearing the chaotic red dots from the screen. He brought up a single, isolated blueprint of a building.

"What's up, man?" "You know exactly what's up," Steve replied, stepping closer. His boots crunched against the loose gravel with each step, the sound sharp in the quiet afternoon air. "You've been avoiding us." Another figure stepped out from behind the maintenance shed, blocking Caleb's only exit route. This one was taller but leaner than Steve, with stringy blond hair that hung in greasy strands around a face marked by old acne scars. His name was Tommy, and he had a reputation for enjoying his work a little too much.

Aria said, getting up with the help of her clutch. I was still seated outside the mini cafe with a soft drink place in front and my phone in my hands, typing to Steve. “I've gotten to her” I texted him but no reply yet. Steve said he wanted to speak with Xanthea and convince him to help his business, which was not the case because Steve was already well off. While I don't know his actual goals were, I could assume he needed to use him to expand his pack. Xanthea is well known as the alpha with the most members, which consist of able soldiers and a wide range of land. I bet that's what Steve is aiming for.

Nathan was riding beside him, Garrett, the Gamma was also with us, including a few of his boys. “I never asked for an entourage, Nathan,” I groaned. He smiled, his eyes fixed on the obscure mountain. I’m sure that smile never reached his eyes. Something was wrong with him. “We’re destined to serve you even in death,” Garrett replied instead. I glanced at the hairy huge, tanned man beside Nathan. If there is another man I can take in as a confidant, that man will be Garrett. His little eyes radiated innocence and his face always held up smiles that could lift the morale of a fallen soldier.

Harris. “We should take a look at that,” he says. I look at Steven and see that he is carrying Stacey’s lifeless body in both of his arms like a bride. I see that his eyes are wet from crying and he is shaking endlessly. “Steve,” Harris call him out, “Let’s go find a safer place and find medications about our injuries,” to which Steven doesn’t reply. Again, I feel a sudden jolt on my side and my vision gets darker and darker until I think I pass out.
