The small lake at the far end of his garden. Still keeping quiet he made his way through the orchard path between the trees to the very end where the small lake twinkled in the sun. Fed from the other mountain streams, it wasn't big enough for Kendrick to bathe in; his bathing lake lay a couple miles to the south of his home. But the small lake did help hydrate his garden and was good for simple hand washes, cooking, or even a crisp drink. According to his nose, Twillow was by the lake.+

Erys replied. "Hell is weird," Kira and I said. I leaned over the lake. "You can see your reflection. It's called Crystaline Lake because any type of rock you put in comes out a crystalized mineral in a week. Go ahead, pick a rock, scratch your initial in it, plop it in the lake and we'll come back in a week for the crystals. Don't worry, no one will steal anything. Crime is non-existent here." I waited for everyone to pick a rock and plop it in. "Would you like to see the meadows, forest or mountains next?"

“Twenty and untouched.” She jerked away. “Are we going to sit in the driveway all night? Go around the back, to the kitchen door.” He shouldn’t let her give him orders, but what the hell. He put the truck in gear and did as directed. The darkness of the hour had hidden quite a few things. There was a small lake behind her property, pretty with the moon reflecting off its surface. “Is the lake stocked?” “Yes. But it’s seldom used. The realtor said one or two of the neighborhood children come here sometimes to fish. It's shallow, so it’s safe. And apparently it’s the only one on this side of the community. Most of the lakes are farther up.”

Chloe pulled into a free parking bay along the edge of the town square. Lakewell was a cute little place that had an ample number of shops, despite being in such a small, populated area. I had an excellent view of White Lake from this side of the town. There was a picnic park along the water’s edge with an adventure playground for children. The harbor was bustling with families all out enjoying the sunshine and feeding the ducks clumps of bread. I could imagine this place being great to raise a family. Chloe and Lincoln certainly picked the nicest place to raise Angelica and Cameron.

I walk away from the backyard. I stroll down the long path, and I reach the lake behind the house. I take a seat at the end of the walkway, my feet dangling over the water. It’s both beautiful and peaceful. There is not a single soul in sight. The noise from the party is barely audible. If I hadn’t been drinking, I would go for a swim. That lake is privately owned. Each home in the area has a stake in it.

The security guard brought the family up to the yacht and they cruised smoothly on the beautiful lake. The greens by the shore were lush and refreshing. “This lake is named Horizon Mirror, the same name as the mansions here. The next morning they left for their destination. After a one-hour-long drive they finally reached the cottage, , the cottage was located in a secluded place by a clear lake. The lake was green, and even the water grass of the lake could be seen. There were all kinds of shrimps and fish in the lake. There were several wilds swamp competing to lower their heads and peck water. On the surface of the lake, there was a small bunch of lotuses with dew hanging on it.

Already watching the snow glisten on mountain leaves me oddly peaceful. Eventually, once I thought the mountain could continue up no more, Alden turns down a gravel driveway. It leads us to the last thing I thought I would see here near the top of a mountain. And it’s not the surprisingly large two story cabin which lights are already turned on inside. It’s the lake. It might not be massive, but as we pull up, I’m still mesmerized by the crater that supports this ominous dark blue body of water. I’ve never seen anything like it.
