Tonight, it was a familiar, comforting silver orb, casting long, elegant shadows through the dense canopy of pine and ironwood. They were headed to the Whispering Lake, a secluded, crescent-shaped body of water nestled in a forgotten valley miles from the main settlement. It was a place untouched by pack politics, untainted by the blood of the trial ring, and entirely removed from the judging eyes of the elders. It was just water, stone, and the watching stars.

They kept walking along the path for a while until the trees starting to thin out, and then all of a sudden, they were out of the woods and standing along the shoreline of the lake.

The beautiful, huge, green pine trees, even the dead trees lying on the ground were mesmerizing. There’s a reason they called that small town Deadwood. The breeze, the air quality, the mountains, the lakes…speaking of lakes, Lake Pactola and Lake Sheridan, are beyond magnificent. Nothing like Lake Houston, River thought and giggled. Stopping at both lakes, to her surprise they were still icy cold and it was about to be June.

Shimmer Lake, our destination, was a mere twelve feet from us, sparkling, as its name implied, in the sunlight. Tall, skinny pine trees and some birch fell all over each other to create dark, mysterious tangles of trees all around the lake. Not that all of the lake could be seen from this one spot. According to Hank, you could portage through seven lakes just by accessing this one. The lakes we’d be fishing were Shimmer Lake, North Shimmer, and Little Shimmer. “Okay, everybody out! We need to unload, then the menfolk need to get the boats in the water,” Hank said.

Mhir muttered and looked at Kulv who was just silent. “Kulv?” Laggas called as he walked towards Kulv. “What the hell is going on with you?” he asked with a frown on his face. “’Dream Lake’?” Skye muttered after he heard what Hierro whispered to him. “’Dream Lake’? What is that?” Mahi asked. “It is a lake underneath the Mirror Lake.” Loheiruchel spoke. “There is another lake beneath this one?” Laggas was surprised as he looked at the Mirror Lake.

It was a nice night to go for a swim in a lake or something. She didn’t realize she had thought aloud until she heard Jimmy’s voice behind her. “There’s a lake if you’re looking for one.” He said and she turned to face him, seeing him raised his hand to point towards where he was talking about. “It’s right at the edge of the mountain near the West Vally Bridge. It’s a nice lake, really. Can’t be dark out there too because of the big lights from the bridge.” “Oh, really? Isn’t that just great?” She said, smiling. “Well, thank you, Jimmy. I have to go now. I’ll see you back at the house.”

The mate bond blinds him to what's happening right before his eyes. The road narrowed as we climbed higher, pine forests giving way to spectacular views of a pristine lake nestled between towering peaks. The water shimmered like liquid silver in the afternoon light. "There it is," Elena said with pride. "Silver Lake." The retreat emerged like something from legend – a stunning estate with a main house of timber and stone overlooking the water, surrounded by private cabins nestled among ancient pines. Stone pathways wound between buildings, bordered by gardens filled with rare mountain flowers. Elena took charge immediately upon arrival. "Aurora will take the cabin nearest ours," she instruct

That doesn’t make it any less important. There’s no recreation allowed on this lake. But there is hiking allowed in the foothills around it.” “If you really want a good view of it, I suggest hiking up on one of the bluffs where you can see the panoramic view. It makes for wonderful pictures. I’ve taken my wife and kids out here a couple of times. Pack a picnic, and it’s a nice day trip.”

Penelope said wearily as she held her bag firmer in her hands and marched over tuffs of dry grass and past the firs that were edged to their left and right. "I don't know," Harold replied as they moved on. "But there's a lake where we can refill out water bottles and perhaps have a bath. Its name is Golden Lake and yeah, the school was named after it." He smiled as they walked on. They probably felt like he was a Geography god or something like that and Harold was enjoying it.
