Only an open, wide silence. Finally, they rounded a bend, and the estate was visible. It was not a palace like the Dubai hotel or a glass fortress like the New York penthouse. It was an enormous lodge made of whole logs and native stone, standing on the edge of an enormous, mirror-still lake which appeared to reflect precisely the towering, snow-covered mountains behind it. It seemed less built and more grown out of the ground itself. The SUV grinds to a halt on the gravel driveway. The silence that descends when the engine cuts is absolute. It is a physical presence, heavy and grounding.

And then, she quietly went out of my room. I was left alone again. It was so quiet, but inside of me was a mess. I kept hearing thoughts of loneliness, and it was making me restless. I looked ahead of the window and heard the singing of the crickets. “Maybe I should go to my comfort place,” I thought. ~~ There was a lake at the heart of the wilderness where the Northern Castle was located. The lake was small, but the water was clear and not too deep. Although it was located only five kilometers from the castle, the northern werewolves wouldn’t go there since they were not fond of bodies of water.

Vangie gasped in amazement at the sight of a small waterfall pouring into the circular lake. “W-Wow!” Bert smiled. “We used to come here all the time back when we were harvesting coconuts. We call this place Pisak.” “It’s beautiful,” Vangie said in awe. There was something similar in her hometown, but this place was much nicer and cleaner. The water was so clear she could almost see the bottom. It was small and round, with a large rock on one side. “See that?” Bert pointed to a small hut by the lake. “My cousins and I built that. It’s still standing even though it’s falling apart,” he laughed.

Violet POV The fishing lodge was a newly-acquired property by Dane. It was beautiful. Divided into two sections, one house was built on the hillside while the above rose above the ground like a tower. The house above the hillside overlooked a large lake with forest lying around it, perfect for the wolves to shift and run when needed. I stopped to look at the gargoyle from which water sprouted in the fountain. Dane came to stand beside me and wrapped my shoulders with his arm. “What are you looking at?” he asked.

***Julian She seemed distant today. Not her normal cheery self. I asked her if anything was bothering her, but she would only shake her head and shoot over a melancholy smile. We had been hiking for a few miles, leading us to Archer’s Point which overlooked the Albian Lake. It was the largest lake in the territory, running for miles up the eastern coast. Too cold for swimming but the view from the point was incredible. The lake was so wide and so deep, it never froze completely over.

“You think I’ll still be here long enough to get bored?” Her grin faded just a little. “You’ll be here longer than you think, Ivy.” Something in her tone made me glance up, but she was already standing again, dusting her hands. “Come on. I want to show you the lake before Jason notices we’re gone.” The lake was a short walk away, hidden by trees that opened like curtains to reveal water so still it looked like glass. The reflection of the clouds shimmered on its surface, framed by rocks and wildflowers.

She gazed at Jeff and shrugged. “Well then where is she?” That question remained unanswered as we sat down to munch on delicious sandwiches and cakes. The name Black lake was apt for the lake. The reflection of trees on the water’s shiny surface and the dead leaves that collected at the bottom of the water gave it a characteristic black color. Fishes splashed in the water that ran downstream in rapid currents, there was a wooden sign that read: NO LITTERING at one corner. A feet distance away from us was what appeared to get the remnant of a fire, there was a rusted fish hook among the debris.

No interruptions. I open the travel app on my phone. My thumb hovers briefly. Then I search. Lakeside cabins. Two nights. One hour from the city. Private dock. Fireplace. Breakfast basket delivered every morning. A place where water moves slowly and the wind carries nothing but leaves and birds. I find one. The photos show a warm cabin with a large window facing the lake. A swing on the porch. A tiny rowboat tied to a wooden platform. It is simple. Quiet. Beautiful in a way that soothes rather than impresses.

Author’s POV: A mysterious lake: A small town away from California. People of the town have been seeing this pond over 100 years. But yet they know nothing about that lake like who created it and who is using this.!! Most surprising matter is the water label of that lake never changed and the water is fresh as always. The lake area is restricted and there is a boundary covering the lake. People say that few deaths incident occurred who entered into that area. Some used to say that this is somehow connected to the electric power plant which is around two kilometers away from the lake. But none knew how and why this is connected to that electric power plant.

Lakefront Villa is a beautiful property located by the lake. The villa was surrounded by lush greenery and offered breathtaking views of the serene lake. The interior of the villa was elegantly designed and furnished with luxurious amenities. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, providing a peaceful retreat for guests. The living area boasted large windows, allowing natural light to flood in and showcase the stunning lake views. The kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances, making it convenient for guests to prepare their meals.
