whispers Orchid. A wind blows and winds at the top of our hill. To the east, those storm clouds are darkening, growing into an ugly anvil-shaped steam tower, tendrils of rain spreading out and casting shadows across the landscape. Silent lightning flashes within the cloud. The storm will be upon us soon. “We're not going to get to the city today,” says Truk. “Not before the storm gets here. We need to find a place to sleep for the night and face this. "

Rejected Crown: Perpetual Twilight

Rejected Crown: Perpetual Twilight

I nod in agreement, though I know this is far more than just strange weather. “Indeed,” I reply, my voice barely audible above the howling wind. The first droplets of rain fall, quickly growing in intensity until they pelt the ground like bullets. I quicken my pace, a sense of urgency building within me as the storm worsens. The rain continues to pour; the droplets splatter against the street as I weave my way through the streets. My senses are on high alert, attuned to every shift in the air, every sound that echoes through the darkness. I am determined to unravel the mystery of these unnatural events, even if it means exposing myself to whatever sinister forces lurk in the shadows. “Perpet

Cursed by the Gods: Cleopoda CBTG Book 1

Cursed by the Gods: Cleopoda CBTG Book 1

She had read from the archives in the palace that sand storms lasted for hours, sometimes a whole day. With her heart hammering, she stopped running towards the Saade's carriage and began running in the direction the storm was moving, her only prayer as she moved was that the storm wouldn't kill her but provide a cover for her to get to safety. The ground shook beneath her feet as the storm gained momentum, she hunched her shoulders bracing herself for the impact. So intent was her thought of escape that she barely stopped to think of how deadly the storm could be. As the storm moved closer she heard voices that sounded as though they came from a tunnel. The Saade was shouting commands, inst

After The Storm.

After The Storm.

She explained about the syllabus and about the previous lessons. Mrs.Smith explained, "So we have already completed our last chapter. Today we are going to start a new poem named, 'After the Storm' by William Wordsworth." Then looking at Daisy, Mrs. Smith ordered, " Daisy Miller, will you read the poem loudly so that rest of the class can hear?" Daisy replied obediently, "Yes, Mrs. Smith." Then she started reciting the poem, standing in her place, in her silvery voice. The poem sounded like a melodious song in her sweet voice.

Trapped in the Storm

Trapped in the Storm

Storm Storm Once we had gotten ourselves packed for the trip back to the girls’ pack, we grabbed a quick lunch, and I had barely been able to bring myself to eat any of it. My stomach was in knots, and I felt sick. After we had eaten our lunch, we had tidied up our dorm room before leaving for the long weekend.

Loved this book! Wonderful suspense not knowing which way things were turning at times. Only thing I didn't like at times were the POV chapters you pay for that repeated everything from the previous chapter with a couple added thoughts, but some chapters being below the normal price made up for it.

This is truly one of the greatest stories. No gratuitous sex scenes which is s fantastic thing. You are getting to know the characters and their is a plot. You have even left things open to continue on to another book! I hope this continues!

Love & Fate Series: The Thrown Away Girl

Love & Fate Series: The Thrown Away Girl

And it will all be worth it. The wind is picking up and the trees are bending to the winds will. This is not going to be just a small drizzle. This is going to be a major storm, and I'd rather be out of it before the lightning strikes. Only crazy people are out in storms like these. Some result in flash-floods and then bridges go out and people get stuck! I definitely don't want to get stuck!

Storm Of Legend

Storm Of Legend

He whispered brokenly, his shaking hand coming up to cover his mouth. Now Storm was just confused., although deep down she was drawn to this stranger, she felt her soul reaching out to him. “Uhmmm,” She muttered looking now at Tasha who was also staring at the man with tears streaking down her cheeks, “Can anyone tell me what is going on here?” Tasha faced her with red eyes and smiled sadly, then laughed wiping her tears, “It is a long story Storm. One which would really interest you,” Storm frowned, backing up as the man took a few more steps closer to her.

the bodyguard's secret

the bodyguard's secret

The first storm of the season arrived in late November, three weeks after Anna's unexpected visit. Leo stood at the studio window, watching the wind bend the trees nearly horizontal and listening to the rain hammer against the glass like bullets. The weather matched his internal state perfectly—turbulent, unpredictable, charged with an energy that felt both destructive and cleansing.

and again precisely one year after that: on May 20th of 1918—all three storms coming on like enraged beasts in the early evening hour. So many places full of hopelessness and human grief. Places of maddening solitude exacting heavy tolls, where crops might be destroyed by massive grasshopper swarms blotting out the sun, descending to devour whole fields. Or destroyed by drought, or unrelenting rains wiping out thousands of acres. Farmers and their corn-fed wives and children succumbing, sinking to collective knees and praying blindly in the grip of these godless eclipses, or sun-baked dust, or the roiling floodwaters.

The Calm To His Storm

The Calm To His Storm

she replied. Carrie and I looked at each other, I hadn’t realised my hands were still trembling and I should have realised that Carrie would have been worried about me, I shouldn’t have run out like that. “Luna has been through a lot lately, her ex...” Carrie began before I nudged her and shook my head. I didn’t need Carrie telling anyone about my past, not that she would but I was sure she may slip up and I know she means well but nobody needs to know about what I have been through.
