- Familiar Stranger

- Familiar Stranger

I paused which stretched too long. I forced a small smile. “Occupational hazard, I guess.” But he didn’t smile back. Instead he leaned forward slightly. “Strange." He murmured. My pulse quickened. “What is so strange in it ? Many people do it .” “ I don’t know why it feels… familiar. Like I have seen it before .” The word hit harder than it should have. I tightened my grip on the cup. “Maybe you’ve seen it somewhere,” I said lightly. “People have habits.”

My Malicious Neighbors

My Malicious Neighbors

I'd lived in this apartment for two years, and the neighbors next door changed as often as the seasons. I'd seen every kind of lunatic imaginable, including the creepy exhibitionist guy, the schizophrenic teenage girl, and the fitness trainer who brought home different muscular men every night. In the beginning, I figured a divorced woman raising a child alone probably had it rough, so I tried to be patient and kept things peaceful. I never expected her to take advantage of people like it was the most normal thing in the world. Everything she said was appalling, and she had absolutely no concept of basic decency. Honestly, I'd never met anyone like her before.

A Stranger in My Marriage

A Stranger in My Marriage

Almost instinctively, I pulled out my phone and checked my browsing history for the video from last night. In it, the side profiles of the two elderly people were identical to the faces of my in-laws standing before me now. If the clip hadn't flashed by so quickly, I would have recognized them right away. And in other videos—those fleeting, fragmented moments—my wife, Cynthia Muller, appeared again and again, holding a child in her arms. The little boy called her "Mom" with intimate affection. Under a sky lit by fireworks, the man held her close and kissed her.

Sinner (Upperworld)

Sinner (Upperworld)

It was not until that night when she got home and open the door of her apartment that she notices that there is something odd. The air around her was chilly. Her once warm home felt strange. Something was following her. She looked back but there was no one there. She was afraid to step inside her room. “Amilia? What’s wrong dear?” a voice called out to her. “Mrs. Rodriguez” was her fifty-five years old Asian neighbor. “Is there something wrong with your apartment? Is there a burglar?” the old lady stepped closer to take a peek inside. Amilia was quick to stop her.

Strangers

Strangers

Another showing, a window in the room where the workers died blew out-not as if something had been thrown at it from the street, but outward. At the last showing, my client and I got stuck in the same room, the interior doors wouldn't open, but there are no locks on any of them; they just swing into other rooms. The lights flickered in the same pattern they had the time before. We could hear footsteps all over the building, but there was no one else there. When the footsteps stopped, the lights returned to a steady glow, and the doors opened as if they had never been jammed. If it was just one incident I may have been able to put a spin on it with my formidable marketing skills. Unfortunatel

The War of Canneti

The War of Canneti

he screeched and bumped his fist on the top of the medical van with a thud, “She is not a murderer.” “That’ll do!” The peacekeeper walked away. A minute later, one of his subordinates came around to talk. “What do you think Jeff?” ‘This fellow Parson lives in his wife’s an old house —an old concrete dome with a two levels. Mr. Lasak- the nearest neighbor, 10 yards or so to the east—saw a glare in the sky from his bedroom window. The Parson’s were out at work and their five year old kid was alone inside. By the time they got there, there wasn’t enough of the house left to bother about. Lasak’s teenage son was the first of the neighbors to get to the house, and the roof had already fallen in t

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Stranger For one terrifying second— nobody moved. God. Not Adrian. Fair. Not Elena. Reasonable. Not Lily. God. Because Peanut was standing beside a stranger. Fair. A complete stranger. Reasonable honestly. And she looked happy. God. Perfectly happy. Fair. Which somehow made everything worse. Reasonable. Then Adrian crossed the distance. God. Immediately. Fair. Not running. Reasonable. Not walking. God. Something in between. Fair. The speed of a father who had spent the last fifteen minutes imagining every nightmare possible.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

A Stranger I Met

A Stranger I Met

I opened the room door which had a big sticker of twenty-nine pasted on it and to my greatest surprise, I saw a guy lying on his stomach, watching a movie or so. It dawned on me that he watching porn when I heard the weird sounds coming from his laptop. He hadn't noticed my presence since he was very engrossed, so I quietly stepped out of the room and let out a big sigh of frustration. So this was my new roommate? Great! Just what I needed!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I stumbled across this book and decided to read through just to whirl away time. however, I found myself engrossed with each chapter and I just kept reading, unable to stop. I really want to know about Veronica. Her character is mysterious and she seems dangerous. Nice work, dear

Ok so I just read this book tho I'm not done, it's so alluring and I'm already hooked. I can't wait to continue. It describes exactly how a person would feel and react in such situation as the characters. It's really relatable. Amazing job, author ♥️♥️

THE CEO LEFT ME.... THEN CAME BACK BEGGING

Nathan stepped forward protectively. “Move away from the stairs.” The stranger laughed softly. “No.” Sophie’s grip on Amelia tightened painfully. The man slowly reached into his pocket. Nathan reacted immediately. “GET BACK!” Everything happened at once. The stranger pulled out a small device. Then pressed something. Instantly, the stairwell lights shut off completely. Sophie screamed. Amelia stumbled backward blindly. Nathan lunged forward. A violent struggle erupted somewhere in the darkness. Punches. Grunts.
