Leo tapped on the door but opened it before his father could answer and Caleb was surprised to see us walk in with Izzy and Dante. “Oh, good afternoon”. He greeted with a surprised look to see all four of us walk in, but his expression turned to one of concern when he noticed worried looks on all of our faces. “What is it?” He asked as Leo took the lead and stood in front of Caleb’s desk. “I think we might have a bit of a problem”. I frown, thinking on how familiar the male's voice was, searching my mind for where I might have heard it before. "Tonight," The Strange man continues, shrouded in the covering of his cape. "We have new commerades, as well as not so new Counsellors who will mold our new recruits into our way of life. We have lost many over the last year." A heavy pause as others glance at each other, or still others grumble around me and I can't help observe the hatred in their eyes. Where the hell had I taken myself to? "This time around, we will take nothing for granted." The stranger bellows, throwing off his hood in the process and I gasp, taking a step back.

"It's okay. You're safe." I buried my face in his chest, my voice muffled. "How did they even find this place?" Hector was quiet for a moment. "I'll handle it." True to his word, he took care of it. I didn't know what he did or said, but my family never showed up at our door again. Life finally settled into a peaceful rhythm. I managed to find a new job in Solvane. Because I ain’t got the time nor the energy to deal
