So, he just borrowed Jamie’s phone to send her short text. 'Have you met with Anthony? Tell him that someone will send his puppy to your house.' She frowned and then looked up at Elena, "Did Anthony ask to have a dog?" Elena nodded, "You know Anthony and how much he loves animals. He found a stray dog in the hospital yard this morning in Arizona, and he cried because the dog was injured. A security guard and a driver told me to take the dog to a veterinarian, and we did. After that, Anthony spent the whole day with the dog and begged to take it home."

Unless the boys were secretly keeping pets from her, it did not explain the coincidence of these fur with their hair colour. Imagining the three boys as little dogs and cats, Emily giggled. It was a cute image. However, that did not make keeping pets from her a secret ok. When they returned, she would have to question them about it. Pets should be looked after responsibly. She had a feeling that these stray animals the boys were keeping from her might not be fed well or showered. They might not be vaccinated and could carry dangerous diseases. Emily could not allow that.

When they’re gone, I clean up the messy house some and wash the clothes that are scattered everywhere. A few mornings later, I’m dragged from sleep by the sound of the brothers’ shouts. Sliding from the sheets, I stealth-walk across the bedroom and crack the door. “We can’t take care of another stray,” Warrick roars. “She’s a puppy in a wolf’s body.” “But—” Callan starts.

The answer looked at Aiora mockingly. Then the sound of a dog barking from inside makes Aiora turn towards the sound, surprised to see a husky dog running towards them. "This is her cheating on me." Ellthan said welcoming his beloved dog. Aiora looks at Ellthan in disbelief who is petting the dog fondly. So he was lied to again? Damn Ellthan. "You want to get acquainted with my affair?" Ellthan asked annoyingly looking at Aiora who looked annoyed at him.

She gives me a look that says, Don't you dare call me a pet. "She’s a stray," I lie. I try to sound casual. "She showed up a while back. I think she ran away from a breeder or something. Huskies are known for being runners." Sombra thumps her tail once. It sounds like a threat. Liddy isn't buying it. She walks closer, inspecting Sombra like a piece of furniture with a stain on it. "A stray?" Liddy purses her lips. "That explains why she has no manners. She’s staring at me like she wants to bite me."

After a long moment of silence, his rough hand reaches out and violently rips the burlap sack off Chika's head. CHIKA WHITMORE My eyes slowly flutter open against the harsh glare of the floodlights, revealing a profound, bottomless wave of sadness deep within my pupils. My gaze watches the family of three tightly embrace on the edge of the dock, comforting each other's wolves, completely oblivious to the fact that my life is being left behind in the dark. My teeth clench together until my jaw aches, violently struggling to contain the raw storm of emotions threatening to rip my chest apart.

Eros said. Luna and Jane nodded quickly hearing Eros' story. They remember it very clearly. At the time they were playing in the park, there was a stray dog that escaped from the dog shelter and happened to bite Eros. Eros really had a hard time after that. The injuries weren't that bad, but the trauma was no joke. "But, this is outrageous, you compare our cases, you compare Sam to a dog?!" Luna exclaimed annoyed. Eros scowled and glanced sinisterly at Luna.

My boots sank into the muddy ground, a mix of dirt and who-knows-what, as I stumbled into the new town. My pack had a particular scent that bonds everyone together but not for a place like here. There were most huts with only a few houses built with bricks. Lanterns flickered, casting shadows that danced like ghosts, and the noise was everywhere—shouts, metal clanging, wild howls. This was no pack, no valley with rules and wolves. This was a chaotic place mixed with different kinds of abnormal wolves, and I was just another stray dog in it. I was still Rose, but the name felt like a bruise, like a stupid word to use in a place like this.

I almost withdrew them but he held them right where they were. “Can I know why you concerned?”, he asked, voice low. “Why do you care about strays who aren’t even ours?” I opened my mouth, searching for words that wouldn’t unravel everything. “Because… no one should be left alone out there. Not when winter’s closing in. Not when intruders are already sniffing around. They don’t have walls or warriors. They’re just trying to survive.” He watched me for a long moment, thumb brushing absently over my pulse point.

I looked closer and noticed it was a camera. " Yeah. Someone's definitely been here. " Walking into the building I looked around and tried to block the dust from entering my system. There wasn't much on the bottom floor but when I heard a few silent growls, I froze in my spot. Looking over my shoulder, I made eye contact with two rottweilers stalking towards me with an extremely lose piece of rope connected to their collars. They didn't look malnourished, giving me another sign that someone might be His Possession In Discretion - DISCRETION SERIES BOOK #1 - Chapter 38 (p.9 of 9)
