8- Zakat and Alister (Xander's POV) “Man, you sure are tough” I heard him say and continued my work without bothering to look over at him. “Someone might steal your girl” he again babbled. “I heard that some guy is hitting on her, this is not good”, Ziven made dramatic faces while uttering pure nonsense. “You listen-” The next second he was smashed on the floor, wailing in discomfort after my fist landed straight to his face.

Xander's POV I step behind the bag to steady it for her, bracing my stance as she squares up. Then she unleashes—and holy fuck. I’m instantly grateful for the barrier between us because watching Zahra fight is like watching a goddess made of lightning and fury. Every strike lands sharp and precise, fists and feet moving in a blur. The bag jolts against my grip with every hit, the power behind her punches enough to make my arms ache just holding it steady. She’s all strength and rhythm, a Valkyrie in motion.

This was the 30th punch, and he felt that this one would finally determine the winner. The force behind Chase's punches had reached an incredibly terrifying level. While it still was not quite at the level he had reached against Trek, Chandler was different. Trek had specialized in fist techniques, was well-versed in handling punches, and had many ways to dissipate force. Chandler, however, did not have that advantage.

I kicked and squirmed. "Looks like you're short," Chase cackled. "Short a mile!" "Didn't your mother teach you that you're supposed to walk a mile, not run one?" Jeremy asked in my ear. "You like this fag?" Chase gave my ass a squeeze with his free hand. "That's all you'll ever get too from a man, aren't you glad I done it?" "You're not a fag are you Chase?" Jeremy asked in disgust. "What? No!" Chase hissed. I could hear Quil recovering and coming for me. He tackled me down into the ground, stabbing into my shoulder. I let out a scream from the pain. I heard guns firing then.

The masked warriors begin to circle. Warrior 1 (under breath): "Take his legs. Make him crawl." Warrior 2: "Or let's see how long he dances." The first strike slashes his shoulder. Xavier doesn't cry out. He turns with an eerie calm. Xavier: "Who taught that move? You pivot like a drunk." Another strike. A boot collides with his ribs. Warrior 3: "He still mocks? Arrogant." Xavier (gritting teeth): "Not arrogant. Just observant."

"Uh, oh… sorry about that. I didn't realize that you had a mate. And it’s Nix, that’s unbelievable. Sorry and congratulations to both of you." I accepted his apology. "No worries. No harm done." The girl shook her head at his denseness. "I'm Chloe, and this is Greg and Soren." Greg shook my hand. "If you didn't pick it up, Chloe is my mate." I said, "Yes, I noticed." I tilted my head as I examined Soren. "And your mate is Cassie from the library, right? I met her earlier today, she seems nice." Soren shook his head. "No, I haven't met my mate yet."

Lucas looked shocked at her response. “That going to make my team’s job a lot harder. My name is Xan, and I am the head of the self-defence team. I am guessing you don’t have any experience of that either?” Xan, a Chinese man with thick glossy hair and a very well-toned body. “I do! I’ve had to learn to defend myself and I’m not too bad at it. Sorry to disappoint you Xan!" Grace said in a sarcastic voice. “Don’t judge me before you know me!" Grace thought.

They then launched another duo skill, planning to finish him off but failed as he managed to dodge in the nick of time. Damn! Its almost as if they knew where I was going to strike! Even being able to block off my attacks with that stick! Wait... am I seeing this right? The stick is glowing... and it seems quite bashed up. Maybe... Xander inhaled a sharp breath as he steadied himself. He calmed himself and readied a fearsome stance. The duo grinned maliciously yet had an inviting atmosphere about them, almost as if they were taunting him with their euphoric expression.
