Aetherion Academia #1: Shadows of Rebirth
The next day,
[Rina P.O.V]
We found Caspian Vane in the catacombs' deepest chamber, and he was not alone.
The room was a cathedral of bone and crystal, the walls lined with the remains of students who had vanished, their skeletons arranged in spirals that matched the geas on my wrist, the inverted lunar cycle, the Dusbane crest turned to cage rather than crown. At the center, a stone altar, and on it, Caspian bound and gagged and weeping, his noble arrogance stripped away by the particular terror of a man who had finally met something that did not fear his name, that did not bow to his blood, that did not recognize the privilege he had worn like armor.
