"Where did you guys even come from? Are you real soldiers or just extras?
"Let me tell you, impersonating military personnel is a crime! Conner hired you guys, didn't he? How much is he paying you? I'll double it!"
With a tight expression, the general pulled an ID badge from his chest pocket, flipped it open, and held it right in front of Edward's eyes.
It was a black leather case bearing a gleaming gold federal shield, engraved with three bold words—"Military Prosecutor's Office".
"Take a good look."
Edward squinted at it, then smirked. "You can buy stuff like that online for 50 bucks."
